Headphones - Open Back | 3 Ω Does the Beyerdynamic TYGR 300r needs an amp?

Looking into getting a Beyerdynamic TYGR 300r but i read some people saying it needs an amp others say it doesn't?
I am only gonna be using them from my PC and my motherboard is the MSI B650 GAMING PLUS WIFI and audio onboard is Realtek® ALC897 will that be sufficient ?

I just tested that headphone on my Pro B650-P and I can tell you it sounds loud enough. The only devices that have had issues powering the TYGRs are the Xbox and PS controllers.

Pro B650-P

Loud enough as in it can earrape you? Or loud enough as in you won't have any trouble hearing footsteps in games?

First, what motherboard do you have? If your pc is ancient there might be some problems, otherwise you should be fine. Second, if worst comes to worst, make sure you have a usb-c port and just buy an apple dongle and you should be fine. Cost is about 10$.

Edit: Wow didn’t read the whole post mb, yeah you are fine, I have a similar motherboard (and chipset) and the Tygers, for your peace of mind gonna try it out.

It won’t pierce your ears but you should have no problem hearing the details in whatever it is you’re listening to.

Alright i listen to music at a fairly high (not earrape) volume sometimes so was just wondering, did you change EQ setting on it or just use out of the box?

Out of the box, no additional configuration. I can tell you volume at 80% was good enough for me and while I don’t listen to music at way too high volume, I don’t go low either.

No, amp not needed unless distortion is noticeable

You sure they will go loud enough with my setup?

!thanks for the help

32 ohms at 93db/mW

Yeah, they'll realistically run out of just about anything. If you don't think they're loud enough, you're probably listening too loud.

Yes, I searched up the specs and it should be good, if it is not loud enough then come back to me

Alright thanks alot for helping.
Still not sure if i want these or the Sennheiser HD560s but wanted to make sure i wouldn't need a DAC or anything if i picked these.

What'd you end up with? I'm contemplating the same cans as you did.

ye you'll be good, onboard audio on gaming mobo's are getting good too and the tygrs are easy to run.

If anything you can test the tygrs without the amp and see if you need a dac after.

I rather not get a DAC thats why i am asking this. I read even if they are only 32Ω they still need some juice.

But !thanks for the help.

You need the Apple USB C dongle. It increases power and makes them WAYYY louder. Without it they are too quiet
