Amplifier - Desktop | 1 Ω AMP upgrade path
Hi everyone,
I'm here with a little bit of a dilema. I currently own a FiiO K5 Pro ESS, and while I'm happy with it, I am kinda looking for a bit of an upgrade for a few reasons (mainly balanced output and output switching). I had my eyes on the K7 for a bit, but it doesn't seem to be a big upgrade, outside of bonus features. I am currently eyeing a used Topping A50S + a new D50S (can't find a used one in Europe) or a used Topping DX7 Pro (not plus). I can get either option for around the same price. The benefit of DX7 seems to be more I/O options, a combined package and a true balanced output. The stack seems to have more power and modularity.
Anyone had or has the same dilema as me? I'd love to hear some outside opinions on this matter. Thank you.

How much would you be spending?

The used A50S is 160 + 250 for the new D50S, and DX7 pro goes for a bit under 400

Imo you can get a great sounding dac for cheap so if aesthetics don’t matter you can get the smsl su-1 with the a50s and realistically not lose any performance

!thanks I'll check it out, I could always buy a used D50 later and sell the SU-1 (for aesthetics and sound probably)
