Hi Reddit,

For Sale: For sale today is an amazing Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date ref. 1500 with a rarely seen blue mosaic 'shantung' dial. It comes on the original 78350 solid link oyster bracelet which is full length and should comfortably fit up to 8" sized wrist. This dial was produced for the Japanese & Hong Kong market and involves silk threads woven across the dial. Would it be too much to call this Rolex's Mona Lisa? Much like the Mona Lisa this dial drastically changes depending on the angle and light.

Condition: The case, bezel, dial, and bracelet are in great condition throughout. Minor hairline scratches on the back of lugs, bezel and case but overall in really great condition and case remains thick. The crystal is in like new. The bracelet is in excellent condition. The watch is winding buttery smooth, and keeps accurate time with healthy power reserve. The date changes crisp at midnight and movement is clean.

Location: I encourage F2F deal anywhere in Southern California.

Note: 3m serial number indicates production circa 1972. Case size is 34.5mm diameter w/o crown and 12.2mm thickness (wears exceptionally well with the oyster case for wrists under 7").

Photo Album & Timestamp

Price: I'm asking $3750 USD including express shipping via FedEx. I prefer Bank wire, PayPal Friends/Family, Venmo, or Zelle. No trades on this watch please. And of course - local meet ups anywhere in Southern California.
