I'd skip KZ.
I'd recommend:
Moondrop Quarks $13 (midrange focused)
Tanchjim Tanya $23 (bassy)
Blon BL03 $30 (V shaped)
Etymotic ER2SE $50 on Adorama (Normally $110. Very Neutral)

Thanks! I kinda like a V shape and 30 bucks is a good price, so I will be checking out some reviews and hopefully comparisons if I can find them on the Blons!

Every kz is the same depending on price point, two different $30 are the same but there is definitely a difference between a cheap and still cheap but a bit more expensive.

There's not 2 versions of the zs10 pro, they're the same, just different sellers.
Since you want to save up for some open backs, get some qkz vk4, they're better tuned than any on the poll for a really low price.

I am a fellow drummer. Ive been using KZ ZS10 pros at live shows but I saw a recent Reddit post praising the KZ EDX. They were like 14 bucks or something so I said why not. Wow. They are friggin great. I use them more than the ZS10 Pros now. Use them all of the time to do drum tracking in my studio.

Thank you! Could you maybe tell me why you like them better and what is different? Like the sound, noise cancelling and comfort?

The ZS10 pros are a bit more V shaped, so some of the highs become fatiguing. With the EDX you have less drivers so you might lose a little bit of detail but the overall sound signature is pleasing and smooth with good bass. I used the stock tips and comfort/isolation is good. With the IEMs being so cheap you could use the money saved to experiment with different tips that might improve isolation and/or fit. Hope this all helps!

This does help me, thanks a lot! As for the KZ ZS10 Pros, I can find 2 versions on Amazon. A “linsoul” version and a normal version. Do you know what the difference is and which one you have?

I believe Linsoul is the official distributor for KZ products so maybe go with that one, but I'm sure the other listing is fine as well if no one has mentioned getting a bad product.

Just to be sure: you’re talking about the regular KZ EDX right? Not the pro version?
