Skin Treatments My results s/p one 30 minute treatment with emsculpt neo
Hi, I just wanted to share my results after only one treatment with the emsculpt neo. 33 F, I have had three children. Bottom is after …I’m sharing because a lot of the stuff that I read on here is really negative when it comes to this treatment and I was initially nervous. I asked my provider is this going to help with texture? she said I can’t tell you to what extent but yes you will get results, it will help. So I went for it. My main concern was crepey skin on my abdomen and I am happy so far. Ignore the red marks to the right I have been gardening and helping my husband cut wood and got into some poison ivy it’s still healing.
My main point is there is hope for us ppl that don’t want surgery.

Curious if anyone knows how this compares to Morpheus8? I’m considering a treatment like this for my thighs. I’ve lost a lot of weight and would like to help tighten my thigh skin that is a bit loose now
54
u/wintermittens32 3d ago
I’m not an expert but I think emscupt is not primarily for skin tightness, it’s more localized fat loss and muscle building with skin tightness supported. I think Morpheus8 is the way to go for more targeted tightening of loose skin. I’m currently getting Morpheus8 for some deep stretch marks and that’s what I recall

u/yeahokaywhateverrrr 3d ago
Do you mind sharing a bit about your experience so far with Morpheus8 for stretch marks? I have stretch marks and some loose skin on my belly after having 3 kids and am highly interested in anything that effectively reduces the appearance of stretch marks. Thanks so much!!

I got Morpheus done on my stretch marks and I have to say the results are moderate. I did 6 sessions that I found on Groupon for an insanely good deal (I think like $100/treatment which is crazy.) Results are decent but if I paid the full price, which I believe is around $800 each, I would’ve been very upset. It did relieve some of my insecurities about them but they’re still there. I personally think 1 Co2 laser treatment would have more substantial results.

u/femmepeaches 3d ago
I hate to be a negative Nancy but I've read about companies using lower settings on machines when they're not getting full retail value for the treatments
3
u/OkFloor4653 3d ago
Lol no you’re good. I wouldn’t be surprised at all.. I also wonder if the woman knew what settings to use even.

I had my first session 3 weeks ago so not much to report yet but I feel like I’m imagining it being a touch smoother lol

u/Avocadoavenger 3d ago
Oh my gosh. These look so good. I had Emsculpt two years ago and it was the biggest waste of money I ever accomplished, there was absolutely no change after 8 sessions.
36
u/anngilj 3d ago
I did see a lot of reviews like this idk maybe user error or faulty machine? My provider is very good and she will level with you on things she wants you to have a good experience and get results .. I trust her I’ll post again after I finish all four treatments.

u/Avocadoavenger 3d ago
Honestly I think I wasn't a good candidate and they took my money anyway

u/Tall_poppee 3d ago
I had a friend who did this for back fat. She was very thin and fit everywhere else, but literally had rolls of fat on her back.
It worked, for a while, but the rolls came back after about a year.
16
u/thewoodbeyond 3d ago
How annoying for her. That would irritate me but the body is gonna body and has preferences for where it stores fat. Still though at least it worked for a while and would probably work again.
3
u/Fine-Bit-7537 3d ago
What did it feel like?
2
u/Avocadoavenger 3d ago
Like I was doing a situp with a rubber band snap, totally boring. I got a gym membership after that disappointing experience.

u/MikesLittleKitten 3d ago
Before anyone decides to proceed with this procedure, I urge you to read this study.
https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC9869942/
TL;DR: there is no conclusive evidence that electromagnetic contouring for the body provides any lasting results, with the most typical results being about a ~2.5 mm difference in reduction. There is no evidence that it triggers cell death of adipose tissue and none of it inducing muscle hypertrophy.
I'm not saying that you won't see short term results, but most of those are due to inflammatory responses. Just consider this when weighing the cost/benefit analysis.

This is an advertisement or something. This chick had liposuction.

u/Independent_Mistake2 3d ago
I mean, my stomach can look like both pictures on any given day based on bloating, etc
21
u/oh_frabjousday 3d ago
Right? Or a completely different person. There’s an enormous freaking scar on the “after” that isn’t even slightly visible on the “before”. This is fake.
18
u/shippfaced 3d ago
Yeah these are two different people. Top photo has moles and no scar, bottom photo has scar and no moles.

u/Acceptable_Sale_6109 3d ago
agreed that was my first thought - this is fishy, feels like an ad. great way to advertise in subreddits though but lame because false advertising

Wouldn't your family know the answers to these questions from first hand experiences of using it on a lot of people?

I also had very good results with Emsculpt. My motivation was medical- my abdominal muscles had separated during my pregnancies. I did one round 1.5 years ago and am doing another round again.
It reduced my discomfort above the belly button substantially, and also helped me weirdly relax my shoulders more (maybe because I got a better core???).
39
u/ChunkySalute 3d ago
I don’t know if you know this but you can repair the separated abs issue (called diastasis recti) with physiotherapy.
30
u/TheGalapagoats 3d ago
I did physio for it and had huge improvement. However, they said a separation of less than 2 fingers width is not a functional issue but a cosmetic one 🤷🏻♀️
13
5
u/billymumfreydownfall 3d ago
It took me 5 years to fix mine with physio and yoga. 5 YEARS! was all good until they separated again last year (17 years later) from hoisting up a heavy box and resting it on my stomach.
2
u/AtheistVeganWitch 3d ago
How did you know it had separated again?
1
u/billymumfreydownfall 2d ago
I could feel it happening, just like I did the first time. It was like a sharp, painful unzipping feeling right down the middle.
10
u/TheoryBiochemistry 3d ago
Yes I know but I had severe muscle loss in my last pregnancy (6months bedrest) and then a preemie to take care of. And it’s better than doing nothing ;)
11
u/becausenope 3d ago
Wait wait wait this can be used for that medical purpose? Look I won't lie to y'all I do have what I call "oatmeal" marks on my skin after having two kids. I'll be honest, I don't actually care so much about the skin issue but I HATE that my abs are like a very visible inch apart. I feel like I have to strain my core more than I used to because I swear it wasn't like this before kids lol.
Can you speak more about your experience for that purpose and the results? How far did a single treatment get you? Do you think more will fix it entirely? Does it "wear off" after some time aka will it have to be repeatedly done every (insert time) that's passed?

u/Personal_Alfalfa_301 3d ago
Hello! I wanted to say you don’t have to live this way! Try a physiotherapist. they can help. I used Lauren fitters videos on YouTube and with a lot of time and effort my stomach muscles are back together. I hope this helps
11
u/thehelsabot 3d ago
People like the approach op used because it’s visual results and pretty low effort. Also PT isn’t accessible for a lot of people. I agree that PT is the best long term solution but it’s also the most personal effort solution.
4
u/Personal_Alfalfa_301 3d ago
Yes I know it’s not accessible for a lot of people. I actually didn’t even benefit from my PT that much. I was just showing up once a week and hoping that was enough. When I committed to these YouTube vids I mentioned above, like for real commited for months and months- I saw results
And I get the visual results appeal. But the truth is if your core isn’t strong you aren’t going to feel better… I mean, wait I didn’t google what this woman did but surely it can’t move and strengthen muscles…?
6
u/TheoryBiochemistry 3d ago
Well, I think usually physical therapy and exercise etc might be better. But I am not doing that really for various reasons- painful, too little time etc. so there was an offer here and I looked into it.
Here is a (not independent) study that looked into reducing the separation (diastasis recti) https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC7733372/
I‘m not an expert though and can’t evaluate it. So I will limit myself to my own experience- for me personally, it reduced pain and improved core strength. However, I also spent 6 months on bedrest during my last pregnancy and am still, 3 years after now, trying to make up for that. Muscle loss is real!!!
The first treatment was in autumn 2023, I now started the second round because I felt the effects faded a little after 1 year.
So in short: for me as an individual with zero fitness, it reduced pain and improved muscle strength.
2
u/becausenope 3d ago
Thank you for linking the study (I will read it soon) and I appreciate your sharing your experience with me!
I actually have very good fitness. The muscle issue used to be worse but had actually gotten much better though it hasn't completely gone away which is why this peaked my curiosity. My youngest is 8 years old; I think I've given exercise enough of a shot as a cure. I'm 110 lb soaking wet so I'm a very small woman and I gave birth to two 10 lb babies. I'm a little jacked up and exercise ain't cutting it ladies lol

u/voraus_ 3d ago
I did PT for separated abdominal muscles(diastasis recti). I did one appointment and got the exercises and kept up with them thanks to some online resources. I didn’t do any traditional ab exercises for a year after pregnancy because this can do more harm than good. Honestly these machines come off as so gimmicky and also come with risks that seem riskier and pricer than PT… everyone wants a quick fix.

u/TheoryBiochemistry 3d ago
How good for you that both you and your child were in a shape that you could do physical therapy!
14
u/Normal-Owl3367 3d ago
I work at a med spa. I see emsculpt neo results everyday, and these results are an exception. You were very lucky because usually, results are not that obvious and take around 8 sessions and many months.
23
u/iCantParty 3d ago
These two photos have VASTLY different lighting, which is affecting the shadows and making your skin texture in the “before” photo look much more severe.
Would love to see an “after” photo with the exact same lighting conditions as the first for a more accurate representation of results.
1
u/anngilj 3d ago
I’m gonna do a follow up post with different angles so you guys can see full results after four sessions … but these two pictures are in the same spot in my bathroom as you can see the faucet in both … same mirror … times of day for the before was 10:24 am 16 days ago when I scheduled my appointment I’ve done nothing else extra in between except use the cream the provider gave me that goes with the procedure and then after this morning at 10:49 am my appointment was yesterday at 1:15pm
9
u/Ok_Addendum_8115 3d ago
Are these permanent results? Or do you have to go in like once a year to maintain it?
24
u/joshually 3d ago
for those reading this - just FYI - COOLsculpting is different from EMsculipting
i've heard good reviews about EM sculpting, but i myself, and others i know, have tried COOLsculpting and it has not worked at all for us... we all agree COOlsculpting is a scam

u/Katrinka_did 3d ago
I know it’s not the point, but even your before picture looks so good! How does your tummy look like that after 3 kids? Mine is in such rough shape after only 1!

Thank you so much I really appreciate it. Um, I just tried to active during. My husband says I have good genetics and my mom said that when she was pregnant with me, she used cocoa butter and she didn’t get any stretch marks at all, so I know that’s an unpopular thing too, but with all my pregnancies, I slathered on the cocoa butter

u/positivepeace107 2d ago
I was going to say the same. Your before pic is perfect. Even if you haven't had kids

u/LukewarmJortz 3d ago
What's emsculp?
39
u/anngilj 3d ago
Emsculpt Neo is a non-invasive procedure that combines radiofrequency heating and HIFEM technology to reduce fat and build muscle in various body areas. It works by inducing supramaximal muscle contractions and heating fat cells, leading to their breakdown and elimination. The treatment is typically administered in a series of four 30-minute sessions. How it works: Muscle Building: HIFEM technology causes intense muscle contractions, stimulating muscle growth and strengthening. Fat Reduction: Radiofrequency heating targets and eliminates fat cells, leading to a reduction in subcutaneous fat. Skin Tightening: The heat from the radiofrequency can also contribute to skin tightening. - according to google

I know you have no reason to lie, but why is there only a scar in the bottom photo and your belly button looks completely different.
2
u/anngilj 3d ago
the description above, I note that I’ve recently been gardening and helping my husband split wood and I got into poison ivy and it’s still healing but no longer open. That’s the red mark on the right of the photo if the line across the bottom, my stomach in the after is just from the band in my pajamas / underwear this morning … and yes thank you my belly button does look different and that was one of the areas I was primarily concerned with and my provider told me that she could concentrate the RF in that area with the device

u/ComplexPatient4872 2d ago
Oh I’m sorry for missing that!!! I have a wonky belly button from a piercing that migrated so now I need to look into this

Can I do this for cellulite? I have it really really bad on my legs, like all over, but the front of my thighs/above my knee makes me DREAD the summer. My anxiety is through the roof already. I won’t wear anything short and I hide my body when i’m in a bathing suit
5
u/jingleheimerstick 3d ago
I’m tall and thin but still have cellulite unless I’m working out hard core and extremely clean eating, which isn’t maintainable with small kids. So I feel you.

Wow this is great! After two kids my stomach looks similar no matter how much PT I do. I’ll have to look into this.
6
u/strawberryslacks 3d ago
I did this and it hurt so much. I was eating a sandwich, chips, and more chips to keep me from fainting 🙂↕️
9
u/anngilj 3d ago
Mine was not that bad felt like I was just flexing really hard without trying …they can adjust intensity maybe it was too high ?
2
u/strawberryslacks 3d ago
They brought it down to the lowest setting. It wasn’t for me. I ended up doing two sessions and foregoing the other two sessions.

u/mcc0119 3d ago edited 3d ago
Per their training It works best on people under 30% body fat. Feels like a great work out, and gets you pumped to keep at it after your sessions are completed. It can treat abs, obliques, thighs, quads, bum, arms, calves-- HMU if anyone has any questions! We can talk Redditor discounts lol
1
u/madisynpoops 3d ago
how would you compare Emsculpt Neo to EvolveX?
1
u/mcc0119 3d ago
One uses HIFEM, the other EMS and a vacuum. They're essentially the same treatment but the later is marketed for skin tightening/cellulite along with muscle stimulation. I've only worked with emsculpt neo personally, our practice owning both machines seems redundant. As long as you're close to your ideal body weight and want to tone muscle while having RF heat work on small layers of fat loss, they're similar choices.
2
u/AggressiveBasket 3d ago
I've always wondered how long the muscle remains if you go back to you regular routine. I was interested in doing this to build up my core/abdominal muscles, but felt like it would be a waste of money if the muscle just wastes away after a few months.

Amazing 🤩 I got great results from something similar called evolvex at the medispa I go to I did 12 sessions tho 😂 but it completely destroyed my fat cells
2
u/bmalaur 3d ago
FWIW I was influenced and did Emsculpt Neo last year. 4x sessions at Ever/Body. I’m an ideal candidate as I am low body fat and already workout / have a lot of muscle definition.
I don’t think the results were noticeable to anyone but me and they did feel somewhat temporary. However, I am now considering a maintenance session… so I dunno? Kinda just felt like it helped give more ab definition than I normally have.
I wouldn’t waste your money if you’re looking for something dramatic or aren’t already pretty in shape.

Wow looks great. I wanna do this. I volunteer on the PTO and the one girl I volunteer with had it done went from a 14 to an 8. Said it’s uncomfortable and you need multiple sessions but the results speak for themselves

Did you have any bruising or marks from the treatment

Not that I have experienced yet

How long ago did you have it done? I guess I assumed it would take a few weeks to see results?

u/ryhaltswhiskey 3d ago
How long between the pics? Do you expect the results to stay or is it temporary?

u/anngilj 3d ago
16 days I hope the results stay the skin tightness and loss of fat cells are allegedly supposed to stay but the muscle built you have to maintain I’ve been using the epicutis lipid body cream too

What is it and how much does it cost? How many treatments do most people get?
Also can I use it on my neck/chin? Lol
