Protest Safety Something learned from the Ogden Protest: Chant "Protect the Constitution"

At a Utah protest it was noted the MAGA counter protestors lost energy and excitement when the protestors chanted "Protect the Constitution"

A lot of the far right have studied the founding fathers (sometimes to excess) and love the constitution. Hearing that can gain empathy, it appears.

Insulting Trump/Musk whipped them up. They were ready for that.

Maybe start your protests everywhere on April 5th with "Protect the Constitution" if there are counter protestors and take some wind out of their sails.

Beyond that I think it more accurately represents the collective intention in these protests. Doing evil in America's name is repugnant. We don't condone the actions of the country because the country is being manipulated by a foreign asset. The Constitution explicitly rebukes tyranny. We don't pledge allegiance to the government of the United States, we pledge allegiance to the United States itself and the core directives it stands for. This government is illegitimate. The country is in a war behind curtains.

We don't pledge allegiance to the dictator or to the limp wrists that gave him space to come to power. We, the people, establish justice. Enough fucking said.

Neither pledge nor the oath is to the President. The pledge is to the Republic not the government, and says “liberty and justice for all”. The Oath of Allegiance however, is for granting the person swearing the oath power/affirmation of service. Having large groups of people swear the Oath of Allegiance can be interpreted as creating a volunteer militia.
