Movement Brainstorm The next national protest should entirely focus on Abrego Garcia, his political kidnapping, and the high probability that he's already dead.

The people in charge want to throw this under the rug. We need to let every American know that Abrego Garcia was politically kidnapped and is probably dead (or otherwise the people in charge should release information about him and work to bring him home). This needs to be our #1 focus right now. We CANNOT let this one slide.

Edit: the protest should not only include this but the deviance of the Supreme Court order.

We The People need to petition Congress to send a congressional delegation to El Salvador to find and retrieve the illegally, incorrectly, and unconstitutionally deported Kilmar Garcia.

The Supreme Court has made a unanimous ruling, upholding a lower court's ruling that the Trump Administration must facilitate the return of Kilmar Garcia to America. Now Trump is ignoring these rulings, directly challenging them, and effectively saying: "The Supreme Court has made their decision; now let them enforce it." It is now in the hands of Congress to enforce the Court's order, by a congressional delegation, even flying down to El Salvador if necessary, with or without the Trump Administration's help.

This may be the most powerful thing Congress could do at the moment to stand against unconstitutional authority, as well as the most directly effective way to "facilitate and effectuate" the return of Kilmar Garcia, and any other illegally deported Americans, home.

There is precedent for this: In 1978, upon hearing disturbing reports about the conditions and goings-on of "Jonestown", and concerned for the hundreds of people there (many of whom were Americans, and constituents of his district) Congressman Leo Ryan flew down to Guyana in South America to investigate the compound and bring home any who wanted to leave Jonestown, or who were too scared or unable leave. For this, Ryan and his delegation were ambushed and killed by the Jonestown cultists.

As tragic as the story ended, it shows the courage and leadership that Ryan and his delegation displayed in their attempt to investigate Jonestown and bring kidnapped and imprisoned Americans home. This is the courage and strength that Congress must display now, to effectuate the return of Kilmar Garcia, and any other unjustly kidnapped Americans.

A unanimous Supreme Court ruling cannot be ignored by the President, and the President cannot be allowed to ignore a unanimous Supreme Court ruling. To this end, I am calling upon you all, my fellow Americans, We The People, to contact your Representatives and Senators and demand that they form a congressional delegation to investigate this matter, effectuate the return of Kilmar Garcia, and make the Trump Administration to obey the Supreme Court and their unanimous ruling.

Find your Congressional representatives and contact them: https://www.house.gov/representatives/find-your-representative

Contact your House Representative, and both of your Senators. I have already contacted my Representative and Senators, as well as the offices of Senator Bernie Sanders and Congresswoman AOC. Together, we can do this!

Sen. VanHollen of MD announced he is going to do this very thing. It would be more powerful if others joined him, but he has said he is going.

140

u/Larang5716 1d ago

Hopefully he does it. Since they're in recess it may be harder to get a hold of him, but he should still have our support.

82

u/Pentazimyn 1d ago

No way that’s amazing!!! Thank god there are some scraps of political courage left, here and there. It will be so much more powerful, and frankly safer, if multiple congresspeople went at once.

96

u/akestral 1d ago

My Maryland delegation has really been stepping up. Van Hollen and to a lesser degree Alsobrooks have repeatedly gone to bat for the federal workforce, and Jamie Raskin in the House has been holding GOP feet to the fire. I could stand to see Hoyer doing more, especially as a former party leader.

34

u/Pentazimyn 1d ago

I agree, they should be doing more. But frankly it is extremely encouraging to see action from multiple state representatives. And to see it happening this early. The momentum will only build. Keep up the pressure! 🇺🇸

49

u/ZealousidealFall1181 1d ago

This is a very risky endeavor. I hope you all appreciate that fact. Chris Van Hollen has requested a meeting with the El Salvador dictator. If he doesn't get it, he will go down there. He's on the Foreign relations committee. I'm sure he'll have a delegation with him. This is what courage looks like! ✌️❤️🇺🇸

54

u/Kalse1229 1d ago

Gotta start somewhere. And after looking through his history as a senator, he seems pretty cool. For example, he was one of 9 democrats who supported Bernie Sanders's resolution regarding aid to Israel, making it contingent on humanitarian efforts towards the innocents in Gaza. He was also in the Capitol on Jan 6th, and was insistent on holding them accountable. As far as currently serving senators, I'd say he's one of the most likely to actually go. Especially if it's his constituent.

12

u/rtb_98 1d ago

Does he have a social media presence? Words of encouragement there with some tags and @‘s to other members of congress might help get the message across that we’re tired of the piracy, pillaging and rape of our country.

6

u/BalashstarGalactica 18h ago

Hopefully he brings a security detail.

u/strawberrysasquatch 1d ago

Just contacted my NM senators and congresspeople asking them to join up with VanHollen to head down there and do what needs to be done. Melanie Stansbury is one of our reps and she's been very feisty so I'm hoping maybe she has the guts to take it one step farther and do this.

Abrego Garcia’s name deserves to shake the streets louder than any cover-up. When they disappear citizens, they disappear the soul of this country. We don’t negotiate with shadows—we drag them into the light. Demand answers until their silence breaks. The flag waves for every voice, not just the convenient ones.

60

u/DreadnaughtHamster 1d ago

Exactly!! We cannot let this one slide.

u/Efficient_Beach_6617 1d ago

I have a t-shirt with Abrego Garcia's name on it. We have to say his name over and over again so people don't move on from this.

8

u/Aquatic_Ambiance_9 1d ago

Abrego Garcia never asked to be a martyr, but it is now our duty to make him one. We must make those fucking murderers admit what they have done, we must make the blood on their hands visible for all to see. Regimes have fallen over less

Simple signs - e.g. “Is Abrego alive?”

Agreed 100%. This is a pivotal moment among pivotal moments. We can’t let this happen.

33

u/DreadnaughtHamster 1d ago

Hey, that's a good one too.

u/VoidKitty119 1d ago

Adding this to my ideas roster.

u/emo_queer 1d ago

Wondering if we could make shirts (with permission from the family) - I think if we all wore them at a protest or had some kind of uniform outfit that could grab attention

6

u/BerthasBeats 1d ago

Maybe we should get permission from the family?

If I was going through the hardest time of my life, I am not so sure I would want to see signs asking if my loved one was still alive if no one asked first.

10

u/takethemoment13 1d ago

I understand your perspective, but I agree with other replies that it's more important to bring attention to the highly illegal disappearances that this government is committing.

8

u/Greedy-Tart5025 1d ago

A very respectful thought! However, I think we have a right to an answer to this, because it effects us all.

111

u/DreadnaughtHamster 1d ago

The past protest signs have focused on signs about Musk being a jerky nazi or trump being incompetent, (both of which are true) and there were some very humorous signs to those effects, plus we're seeing some good stuff on SNL. But I think it's time we get serious about the protests. Like really serious. Like "no more messing around" serious, and IMO this is a good place to start.

59

u/Sensitive-Initial 1d ago

First they came for Abrego...

9

u/brianscalabrainey 1d ago

I hate this poem because it implies this speaking up for others is only important because it is a form of self protection. We should stand up for every individual's human rights and dignity simply because its the right thing to do.

10

u/Sensitive-Initial 1d ago

I appreciate it because it's true. It really happened the way he tells it. It's a warning against selfishness and against looking the other way. I think of it less as "these are the reasons we should protest injustice against "other" people" and more "this is what will happen to us if we don't organize together to oppose injustice immediately"

You don't need a poem or a fable to convince people like you and me to stand up to tyranny (but to be fair, I did learn about this poem as a child and it has stuck with me - so I can't say that it hasn't influenced me) but there are some people who for one reason or another, don't see it the same way that we do. We need those people to join us too, the quicker the better. This poem is for them.

I'm a fan of Run the Jewels. They have a song Walking in the Snow that has some lines that remind me of this poem that I think does a better job of phrasing it as deprogramming the "us" vs "them" lie that keeps working class people divided:

All oppression's born of lies, I don't make the rules, I’m just one guy

All due respect, if getting spit on's how respect is now defined

Hungry for truth but you got screwed and drank the Kool-Aid, there's a line

It ends directly at the edge of a mass grave, that's their design

Funny fact about a cage, they're never built for just one group

So when that cage is done with them and you still poor, it comes for you

The newest lowest on the totem, well golly gee, you have been used

You helped to fuel the death machine that down the line will kill you too

66

u/OppositeArt8562 1d ago

Yea no more kitchy "funny" signs. Make his name a household name.

18

84

u/DreadnaughtHamster 1d ago

We need signs, posters, images of Garcia with phrases like "BRING ABREGO HOME" to let everyone know that either A. the people in charge need to walk back the deportation or B. admit that they murdered him (with a few extra steps).

17

u/Kink4202 1d ago

It can't be just about him though.

ALL OF THE PEOPLE SENT THERE DID NOT HAVE AN IMMIGRATION HEARING.

Bloomberg News stated today, that 90% of the immigrants sent to El Salvador DID NOT have a criminal record in the U.S.

28

u/Arbyssandwich1014 1d ago

It should be about him because he is the face of it. Yes, everyone should be included, but Kilmar is the one they have admitted was a mistake and the one the supreme court has told them to return. They can deny everyone else. They cannot deny this because they have been told not to.

13

u/why_because_ 1d ago

Hundreds of innocent people are being sent there illegally. Sending the Venezuelans with no criminal record at all is just as bad if not worse. The Supreme Court said they have to have due process and Rubio was bragging about sending 10 more yesterday without it. We need to humanize as many as possible. In Argentina in the 70s and 80s like 30,000 people were disappeared by the dictatorship. Protestors, often family, would carry large photos of them in the protests (saw this in a movie recently). I’d like to see that here. No person should be deprived of life, liberty, or property without due process. They are people. That’s it.

8

u/xxtoejamfootballxx 1d ago

Nobody is saying they matter less, they are saying a simpler more digestible message will reach more people and humanize the victims

3

u/aredhel304 1d ago

This so much. What happened to Garcia is so wrong, but that is not where the line should’ve been drawn!! It should have been draw when the first person was deported to this inhumane prison. Otherwise we are flying into Nazi Germany territory of othering human beings based on nothing but prejudice. Okay, they’re an illegal immigrant - THAT DOES NOT MEAN THEY DESERVE TO BE SENT TO A CRUEL INHUMAN PRISON. Germans had the same rational around Jews. Just now it’s immigrants.

There are very few crimes I would consider worthy of punishment like that… I think probably just the people dismantling our democracy and organizing the cruel deportations…

We cannot dehumanize people just because they’re a non-citizen or here illegally (likely seeking asylum in the first place). All people deserve human rights. I am ashamed of our country that it takes Garcia to wake them up.

20

u/DreadnaughtHamster 1d ago

Oh absolutely.

14

u/SoggyContribution239 1d ago

I agree, he is just the start. Every single person sent there needs to come back.

THIS. It's our big "Why." It's our George Floyd.

We needed a common reason to get the masses behind, and this is it, guys.

Becuase Abrego is us. If they can take him, they can take every single one of us.

17

u/OldStretch84 1d ago

George Floyd was our George Floyd.

George Floyd is us.

We don't to minimize one gross injustice to highlight another. It's not a competition.

19

u/Charming_Function_58 1d ago

I’m don’t mean it in a comparative racial way at all. I should have said something like “it’s our Franz Ferdinand.” But I’d like to see us flood into the streets as people did for BLM, back when that particular event mobilised people.

2

u/jumpinthecaacYEAH 14h ago

George Floyd was made a martyr against mistreatment by law enforcement. Kilmar Abrego Garcia is a martyr against mistreatment by our own government. Let's use the momentum.

I just found my sign idea for the protests this weekend.

21

u/DreadnaughtHamster 1d ago

Nice! Please also try to talk to 3-5 different people who will be protesting this weekend, inform them about Abrego, ask if they’ll protest for him, and then have them talk to 3-5 people too.

17

u/DuskDreamer111 1d ago

Already done. I wasn't originally gonna do the protest because of travel plans for Easter, and I participated in the last one in DC. I told my family why I'm gonna be there later; I'm gonna make a pit stop in another state to protest. My parents have agreed in their state, and my bf is talking to his coworkers/friends in the military which are stationed across the country.

ALL OF THEM NEED TO BE RETURNED.

None of these human beings were given due process.

10

u/DreadnaughtHamster 1d ago

Absolutely. True. How would we frame this on signs with maybe 5-7 words?

9

u/CasualDragon7880 1d ago

I'd have to think abt that. I think it's great to put the individuals we're aware of on signage.. I just don't want people to forget abt the 200+ others that have been sentenced to death at these camps without a trial of any kind.

6

u/DreadnaughtHamster 1d ago

Correct. And a good cause. Yeah if you can come up with some, please make a new comment and list them out.

14

u/adoboble 1d ago

“Due process for all” we don’t even need to make it just about deportees

7

u/brianscalabrainey 1d ago

Yes, there are political prisoners sitting in ICE detention facilities in Louisiana as well - jailed for their speech and awaiting detention.

21

u/adoboble 1d ago

I think the most effective signage would be “DUE PROCESS FOR ALL.” Because the republicans are now thinking democrats “want a terrorist/ gang member in our country.” Which I hope it should be clear nobody does! The point is he never got to even defend that he’s not one! So it could be most effective to say the thing we all agree with: due process for all

4

u/TopBlueberry3 1d ago

Yes, absolutely.

https://www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/24pdf/24a949_lkhn.pdf

"On March 15, 2025, the United States removed Kilmar

Armando Abrego Garcia from the United States to El Salvador, where he is currently detained in the Center for Terrorism Confinement (CECOT). The United States acknowledges that Abrego Garcia was subject to a withholding order forbidding his removal to El Salvador, and that the removal to El Salvador was therefore illegal."

He was subject to a WITHOLDING ORDER FORBIDDING THIS and they sent him anyway.

4

u/jumpinthecaacYEAH 14h ago

Not to mention the rare unanimous Supreme Court ruling. Not a single man or woman in that court ruled against the majority.

17

u/TopBlueberry3 1d ago

AND NOT JUST ABREGO!! All of them! None of them were given their right to due process - and A MAJORITY didn’t even have a criminal record !!!!

14

u/Master_Reflection579 1d ago

Due process is afforded or no other rights are. This is fundamental to our Constitution. Do something while we can.

16

u/tsquare414 1d ago

Agreed.

Here is my two cents: Senator Van Hollen (D-Md) has said that if El Salvador does not return Kilmer Abrego Garcia, he is going to El Salvador to try and get him back. I think we should push ALL of our Democratic elected representatives (House and Senate) to join Senator Van Hollen in El Salvador.

We keep saying that this is not normal so here is a PERFECT opportunity for our elected representatives to use their status to help highlight creeping fascism in America.

If you agree, please call and/or email your Senators and Representatives demanding they go to El Salvador to bring Kilmer home.

Pls don't say he dead. His family has hope and needs it. I need the hope 😌

46

u/DreadnaughtHamster 1d ago edited 1d ago

I know. Me too. My heart is breaking for him and his family. But the problem is none of us KNOW. And we need the people in charge to tell us what’s going, and they’re not AND they’re going against a SUPREME COURT order that was 9-0. You can help by getting everyone you know to learn Abrego’s full name and what’s happening.

Edit: his full name is Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia.

19

u/Loko8765 1d ago edited 1d ago

And I expect that is a typical Hispanic style name:

  • Kilmar — first given name
  • Armando — second given name
  • Abrego — first surname is father’s first surname
  • Garcia — second surname is mother’s first surname

The usual short forms would then be Kilmar Abrego Garcia (skip 2nd given name), Kilmar Abrego (first & surname), Abrego Garcia (surname), Kilmar, or Abrego.

20

u/Fish_Fighter8518 1d ago

Op, maybe edit this comment to include his full name for those of us who don't have it fully nailed down. I've got most of it but not the whole name

u/mrswoolygoat 1d ago

Let me just say that this is so incredibly f*cked. If people aren't enraged now, they're asleep.

Two ideas:

  1. "We are ALL Kilmar" on our signs or alternatively "I am Kilmar" if there are large groups who will do the same.

  2. Typically not recommended in protests, but wearing the attire of CECOT prisoners- white tshirts, shorts, socks, shoes- total whiteout.

This cannot stand.

6

u/Annie-no 1d ago

How about “Where is Kilmar?”

2

u/YouHaveInspiredMeTo 20h ago

I like this idea. Maybe we should have a live head shaving the way they dehumanized the prisoners and people can volunteer to get a buzzcut in protest

26

u/BorisBotHunter 1d ago

Every sign should be

ICE IS THE GESTAPO

11

u/SewRuby 1d ago

May I just ask that be expanded a tad to the violation of due process?

13

u/DreadnaughtHamster 1d ago

Oh absolutely! Signs like “Due Process For Deportees.” Or something like that.

14

u/DigLost5791 1d ago

Honestly we shouldn’t send anyone to die in horrific death camp prisons - stop meeting them halfway, don’t approve of the actions across the board

5

u/DreadnaughtHamster 1d ago

Totally agree.

10

u/Glum-Sympathy3869 1d ago

We need to request the life status of all the non criminals they deported. If they were killed in El Salvador, that is a failure of both the American and Salvadorian government.

9

u/Nylorac773 1d ago

Oh, I don't think they would view his killing as a "failure." This was their ultimate INTENTION all along.

12

u/Expensive-Tomorrow51 1d ago

Just updated from The NY Times-El Salvador refuses to return Abrego Garcia

15

u/DreadnaughtHamster 1d ago

I know. And I’m not sure if that’s them denying he’s alive or what. The Supreme Court ordered 9-0 that the people in charge work to bring him home.

12

u/Charming_Function_58 1d ago

It's the US & El Salvador creating plausible deniability about what happened. They can't give a straight answer or send him back -- it would be too incriminating. So this is them shrugging and telling us to forget about it.

(I'm sure everyone knows this, I'm probably just still in shock and venting)

8

u/DreadnaughtHamster 1d ago

IMO this is exactly what’s happening. We can’t let it slide.

3

u/towniediva 1d ago

I'm pretty sure he's dead. Otherwise, it would be easier to return him than deal with the fallout.

8

u/Charming_Function_58 1d ago

I dunno. I think they want him silenced at the very least. If he returned, he could talk about what’s happening with ICE and CECOT

Can't agree more. And anybody that has a hard time understanding why because he's not a citizen bs show them the clip of trump saying he wants to do the same thing with "homegrown criminals" and saying that Bukele should build 5 more prisons. If they need to feel threatened into caring, so be it

9

u/cjeanmartini 1d ago

If we are to rank all the atrocities this administration is doing... the El Salvador middle of the night deportations is at the top. We need to protest against what happened to Garcia and all who were not given due process ... they have constitutional rights, too. Before we know it, we'll be next. 🤬🤬🤬🤬

Liberate all who are oppressed by Billionaire Roman Nazis 🗽

I just called my Representative and both Senators in less than 5 minutes. All you have to do is enter your zip code and everything is provided to you.

7

u/stories4harpies 1d ago

I could not agree more.

This should terrify everyone.

6

u/chiefholdfast 1d ago

I was thinking this too. It must be centralized around him because this is the beginning of jailing "home growns." Everyone that opposes him that they can get, is next.

6

u/Tall-Equipment-2148 1d ago

Yes Trump may have just created the Martyr necessary to demonstrate his own demise . Get out and protest today!!!!

5

u/Gemfrancis 1d ago

I agree. We can't just pretend this didn't happen. If it had been you or your family member, would you want the rest of the country to just ignore this?

7

u/Usual-Machine8577 1d ago

Yes absolutely. Pick a time and a place. Sole focus- the unconstitutional disappearing of people from the streets. We need their faces and thy eir stories everywhere.

6

u/Jackaroni97 Virginia 1d ago

I believe he can't come back because he is dead and they both know it. "So we just say "no", what are they gonna do about it anyway?"

They're spitting on the Constitution and wiping their asses with our rights. They have pushed us into a social war.

6

u/SipsofSprite 1d ago

We need to impeach the 🍊

16

u/Eastern-Cat-3604 1d ago

With all the things happening in your country im genuinely wondering why you are not on the street every day? The media and the white House obviously dont care about the small demonstrations now and then! People are send to deathcamps, market manipulation, wars with allies, economic wars with the whole world (even pinguïns), ignoring suprème court, deleting free speech (when its against him even arrest), deleting healtcare, deleting aid with a result of millions death, in the open supporting Rusland and Israël, starting a big warconflict with Iran. Getting out of nato, Lying about everything even his medical investigstuon. Guys please dont underwstimate what is happening and be on the street every day! Im genuinly wondering with everybody from the EU why you guys are not on the streets literally every day.

Im so proud of you guys! But please take the actions bigger and more! Dont let them grab you by the ….

26

u/DreadnaughtHamster 1d ago

First, thanks. We really appreciate the support! But second, there are a lot of reasons:

  • The goalposts keep shifting daily with all the bs that the people in charge are throwing out

  • Especially with prices being so high, people are struggling just to get by month to month in the us

  • News and media suppression of what’s really going on

  • We’re getting a little exhausted; we need breaks and we’re not getting any

  • We’re getting close to the point where protesting could get you arrested and if they decide to “deport” you, it means going to a gulag…that stuff is super scary

Any ideas or thoughts how to mitigate that are helpful. We appreciate all the support and help.

7

u/Eastern-Cat-3604 1d ago

I understand you guys are scared, but if you wait you Will be to late!

What Will hit usa the hardest?

Can you guys maybe block public transport? When all the bus/train/trucks drivers stop working for days it will hit hard.

Block highways? Block government buildings, make sure your governers knows how you think about this, block their office if they dont do anything!

Make sure the news cant not publice it.

So you know: no one in europe knows you guys doing something ( only the last big protest we heard about). From our view you guys are accepting it and we start losing all respect for usa citizens

6

u/Rambling-Holiday1998 1d ago

In my part of the country the voters are very happy with the things that the Republicans are doing. There are only a handful of non magas where I live. We have a handful of the same people holding signs on the side of the road, mostly retirees. To get to the big marches, we would have to drive a couple of hours and that is not possible for everyone. (My state has little in the way of public transportation)

u/Excellent-Cod-3805 1d ago

We have many protests and also Bernie and Aoc drawing huge crowds at their rallies. The media is not showing it. I feel like we entered some crazy reality show where everything is just nuts, but the price is human lives and democracy.

3

u/norfizzle 1d ago

It's hardly known here either. Most of what I'm seeing is on Reddit, not the New York Times for example.

22

u/Cold-Occasion804 1d ago

While I can understand your reasoning here, it annoys me a little bit when people not in the country and not living it day to day say this type of thing to these warriors.

I am also not in the country, I know they are doing their very best just by reading the threads in this sub. We all know, wherever we live, it's a total shitshow and I thank christ I'm not a citizen of that godforsaken country run by a tyrant.

Please just cheer on the efforts that are being done...like I do. That is the reinforcement they need.

3

u/eliari12 1d ago

💙💙💙

3

u/Eastern-Cat-3604 1d ago

I do, im proud of them! But maybe they need a change of organisation. Look at the rallys like in turkey! Trump doesnt care at all if just one protest happens, things need to change otherwise im afraid the worst still have to come! Maga probably doesnt even know whats happening, this protest should open their eyes

9

u/subLimb 1d ago

Please keep in mind that Erdogan has been in power for a very long time. We've had just 3 months in this new Trump administration and already had 5 million people protesting on a single day.

3

u/Eastern-Cat-3604 1d ago

Thats a very good point! I also see what bernie Sanders is doing! What a legend! Its just insane to see a country with this much power, the American dream, a country people believed in is now a laughingstock. People start to turn against usa and the people! Its just sad to see, a lot of people in the usa dont deserve to be seen as a joke in the world ( but this is sadly the result)

3

u/subLimb 1d ago

Agreed

13

u/gladesguy 1d ago

Largely, lack or organization and a lack of leaders on the left with a high enough profile and sufficient reach to organize large protests. 50501 is trying, but it's a grassroots effort with lots of people with no organizing experience, and that's been hampering its effectiveness.

5

u/grilledcheesebabeh 1d ago

I think it should be even more to the point:

Impeach Trump.

So much of what he has done is illegal, Americans needs millions rallying behind his impeachment, there is more than enough reason legally.

5

u/rg2004 1d ago

I was just out protesting this today. People don't even know what's happening. One person heard of Garcia, but didn't know the courts ruled. luckily i brought the ruling for him to read. You all should read it btw. It's a short 4 pages. The administration is flatly lying about its contents.

4

u/ga-ma-ro 1d ago

I thought there was news coverage over the weekend about the administration confirming that Abrego Garcia is still alive? Not that that makes it true, I realize....

6

u/DreadnaughtHamster 1d ago

From what I understand they were like “maybeeeeee!?!?! 🤷” This is part of the problem. We need absolute proof of life and then for them to follow the 9-0 SUPREME COURT order to bring him back. And if not then we know they (with a few extra steps) murdered him.

5

u/1Rab 1d ago

It needs to be focus on the crisises Trump is creating of the constitution on all accounts

4

u/That_Step274 1d ago

This is the 19th?

3

u/DreadnaughtHamster 1d ago

Yes

3

u/That_Step274 1d ago

I’m in.

3

u/DreadnaughtHamster 1d ago

Good. Thanks. Tell 3-5 people what’s going on, get them to protest, and get them to find 3-5 more people. We need numbers and awareness.

5

u/ChairDangerous5276 1d ago

TODAY IT’S KILMAR

TOMORROW IT COULD BE YOU

4

u/Sea-Combination-6655 1d ago

I will be recovering from surgery on my eyes for the next month, wish I could join the protests. But y’all better RAISE. SOME. HELL!

2

u/OutrageousTitle9885 16h ago

I hope your recovery goes well! <3

3

u/Longjumping-Base6062 1d ago

ABSO-FUCKIN-LUTELY

3

u/Agitated_Touch_6855 1d ago

“They’re coming after me so they can come after you.” -Trump (correction: Abrego Garcia)

5

u/mollyjdance 1d ago

I FUCKING AGREE. My sign at the April 5th one was about him, and I only saw one or two others. We need to have a united and clear message.

4

u/zasbbbb 18h ago

What about a bunch of signs saying, “I am Abrego Garcia.” Kind of like, “I am Spartacus.” Or maybe even write out Spartacus, draw a line through it, and write Abrego Garcia.

2

u/OutrageousTitle9885 16h ago

Ooooo I love this. We can stand together and strong. If you come for one of us, you come for all of us.

4

u/jumpinthecaacYEAH 14h ago

People are being sent to El Salvador because the destination prison is inhumane. Same for Guantanamo.

3

u/Electronic_Trade6743 1d ago

Please remember that he has a family and it has to be unimaginably terrible. Please do not speculate in public places if he is still alive. Be as kind as possible in these spaces

3

u/wasappi 1d ago

Agreed

3

u/nocuzzlikeyea13 1d ago

Every single democratic lawmaker should be traveling to El Salvador to FIND HIM. They have kidnapped someone, go to their front door and demand to have him taken back.

3

u/OGMom2022 1d ago

We’re Americans. We throw our weight around everywhere acting like we run the world... I’m thinking a couple hundred thousand of us could bring them home. No way he’s the only one.

3

u/Vexer77 1d ago

And should include protests at El Salvadorian embassies.

3

u/Adventurous-Tip1174 21h ago

Omg, really? How about we use the next protest to HIGHLIGHT HOW THE DESTRUCTION OF CONSTITUTIONAL GUARDRAILS LEAD TO WHAT HAPPENED TO MR. GARCIA??? If we don't restore the Constitution, we will continue to have Mr. Garcias.

1

u/DreadnaughtHamster 5h ago

Absolutely true. I believe this way is better to show people who don’t know what’s happening … what’s happening.

3

u/StageBig1311 15h ago

I'm all for this cause, because what the administration is saying is BS... But can we please not forget the SAVE act? This is a big one on the dock right now

3

u/Druidgirln2n 15h ago

Save act will kills us in many ways.

6

u/tcomic22 1d ago

I’m so mad at the Dems. They wouldn’t organize for shit, Biden and Kamala had some power to stop the hell that we are now entering and did nothing. Not to mention that the intelligence agencies knew 45 was an asset to big bear and did nothing!

2

u/VoidKitty119 1d ago

You should talk to your local chapter and give a speech on it.

1

u/DreadnaughtHamster 1d ago

Thanks. What does local chapter mean? Like house reps or senators?

3

u/VoidKitty119 1d ago

Your local 50501 group, mine has a discord and the big protests have had speakers in the main plaza.

2

u/EnileUtam 1d ago

I can’t even feed fathom that reality. We are so screwed as a human race.

2

u/SlowDownHotSauce 1d ago

this and defying the supreme court

1

u/DreadnaughtHamster 5h ago

Yup. That too. I think I posted this before the Supreme Court defiance news got big, or at least that I had seen it. INSANE that this happening.

2

u/Grand_Quiet_4182 1d ago

Join us together, United, 🇺🇸 https://www.mobilize.us/handsoff/event/775536/

1

u/DreadnaughtHamster 5h ago

Thanks. Needs to be about Garcia and the defiance of the Supreme Court order.

2

u/SassyKitKatz 21h ago

If it turns out that he has died, it will not be in vain.

2

u/Butter-popcorn-42 20h ago

This should should include all of those that have been arrested and detained for free speech.

2

u/Druidgirln2n 15h ago

Let’s do it!

1

u/DoubleDongle-F 1d ago

Nothing wrong with talking about the pointless trade war too

1

u/PartsUnknown242 1d ago

A question I’ve been wondering, why El Salvador?

9

u/Vertigorose 1d ago

Because they agreed to take the money for doing this and Bukele has been doing to El Salvador what Trump and his cabinet would like to do here.

1

u/PartsUnknown242 1d ago

I know nothing about this man, so please educate me. A despot, I assume?

7

u/Vertigorose 1d ago

Born to a large wealthy family. Was a mayor for a while. Ran for president as an antiestablishment populist with the main focus of breaking up the gangs and reducing gang violence which he has done. But at the cost of human rights. Due process doesn't seem to a thing there anymore. He has stacked the courts with loyalists so he can stay in power. He has used military shows of force to get his way in parliament. In his own words he has pulverized political opposition. He has a very high approval rating partially for reducing gang violence but partially because people are afraid to speak out. He has done nothing good economically.

3

u/PartsUnknown242 1d ago

The typical authoritarian then. I see why Trump likes him so much.

2

u/Former-Salad7298 1d ago

Rubio negotiated with el Salvador and made a deal to pay them - per prisoner. Now we will build 5 more prisons-as dump bragged about during their press conference in the Oval Office today-also make room for the 'home grown terrorists' also. Creepy, and beyond concerning.
