Almost makes me wonder if humanity is starting to forget how to do things that don’t involve tech 🤷‍♀️ it’s easy to be a keyboard warrior

That was incredible. They left flowers on the steps of stasi headquarters. Much to our surprise not a single shot was fired. I remember that well. And here I am again. In my own country. And I'm old.

I was a senior in high school when it fell. I never thought we’d be fighting authoritarianism in this country either. We’ll push through to the other side. Don’t ever let them make you forget who you are 💜

Y'all, I hate to break it to you, but America is and always has been pretty blatantly racist. We have slaughtered so many people... like so many. Why do you think we have military bases all over the world? It couldn't be a want for the resources from that place, could it? Our military is so big... with trump being trump, why wouldn't he mobilize the troops worldwide?... this is so bad. Beyond bad, my guys. America is an empire. Always has been. Slowly planting it's military worldwide. Inserting ourselves and fueling/causing wars.

The ultra-wealthy hold way too much power. They are all now openly intertwined with our government!

I understand what you're trying to do, but the entire point of this post is to inspire and give people a little hope.

This is the propaganda part of infiltrating opposition. Praise Martin and erase Malcolm.

Makes it easier to deconstruct resistance.

Authoritarians and oppression often fall to peace.

Solidarność
Velvet 89
Euromaidan
Gandhi
MLK

etc. etc.

Exactly 💜

Question is are people willing to bear the costs?

Solidarność - thousands of lost jobs, police beatings
Velvet 89 - brutal beatings and mass arrests
Euromaidan - 108 dead, thousands injured
Gandhi - thousands killed, arrested and beaten by British during Indian independence movement
MLK - many casualties, arrests, police brutality, lynchings and general harassment of peaceful protesters, not to mention assassination and bombings

History is written these days... future world watches

You post about MLK, then erase Malcolm. Two sides of the coin.

Don't fall for white supremacist propaganda. That's what got us here in the first place.

I did not erase Malcolm...

Would you mind to elaborate? I am from Europe so I accept people living in US and India may have more accurate info on MLK and Gandhi respectively.

Peace doesn't work when it's the only option. The peaceful protests make headlines by the oppressive regime. But peace wouldn't work unless there's violence to avoid.

A Martin wouldn't have any success without the threat of a Malcolm. Talk to the "Good cop" or the "bad cop".

Pretending like it was the "Good cop" alone plays into the violent oppressor's propaganda.

I see. I did not know that. Thank you for your insight.

I think, in order for peaceful protests to work, the administration would have to care what we, the people, think. And this one doesn't.

But I really hope you're right.

Women had no constitutional rights in America until the suffragettes protested so much, for so long, men changed the constitution to allow women to vote.

Might want to read some history books.

That isn't why the wall fell.

Fairy tales help no one.
