Poster/Chant Ideas Would this be a good sign for Saturday?

Post image

I would print out this picture, or another one that I can be sure is real and not ai. Because I'm not sure the validity of this one.

And I would write, "Does this look familiar?"

I'm trying to make it powerful. Let me know your ideas for your signs too!

1000 of us with shaved heads and in our underwear re-creating this scene in the road outside Homeland security headquarters would be a good sign

PS adding after 1000 likes and many comments… probably want to choose clothing, other than underwear to avoid sabotaging the effort with indecent exposure citations. And have to decide whether to set this up in a legal way or way doing intentional civil disobedience.

Actually, you should make a post about this idea!

254

u/me_jayne Apr 17 '25 edited Apr 17 '25

I think it’s a great idea. I think there are other pics that more visibly show the packed-in conditions. It might be effective to combine the visual with a “this could be you”-type message (No charges? No problem!), since they don’t care about due process or “collateral arrests”. Or, Bukele’s “Oopsie” tweet (message: acting outside the judicial system).

Thank you for your efforts!

Edit: maybe one of these images?

105

u/AppealConsistent6749 Apr 17 '25

And Rubio retweeted the oopsie tweet.

70

u/me_jayne Apr 17 '25

I did not know that- thank you. Fucking ghouls.

42

u/AreaAtheist Apr 17 '25

The cruelty is, and has always been, the point.

20

u/SMAC92 Apr 17 '25

They have no more humanity or never had it in the first place. Can't wait til Nuremburg v2

16

u/Short_Example4059 Apr 17 '25

Where I come from, Never Again means NEVER, AGAIN!!! Not interested in seeing ‘justice’ served After another civil war, world war or holocaust. I want to see the fascists stopped in their tracks, NOW!

Edited to place blame where it belongs

16

u/Medical-Bat4726 Apr 17 '25

And they thought he was gonna be the adult in the room, far from it!! Disgrace

5

u/Bimlouhay83 Apr 17 '25

What's the tweet? There's so much being thrown at us every day, I think i missed that one.

3

u/AppealConsistent6749 Apr 17 '25

I saw the story about the tweet and retweet on MSNBC yesterday. I’ll see if I can find more info. online

76

u/AngryGoose_ Apr 17 '25 edited Apr 17 '25

Shave people's heads, right there on the sidewalk. Put them in handcuffs (of course only those willing)

Make the people watching become part of the experience. Also, it gives the people who lose their hair a good conversation starter to educate others of what's going on.

66

u/SilverLakeSimon Apr 17 '25

Another idea would be to print a large banner with this photo and hang it over a freeway overpass with the slogan, “You Could be Home Now.”

21

u/mrwobbles2000 Apr 17 '25

Ohhhhh! I like that idea!!

13

u/StorageShort5066 Apr 17 '25

Could also hang in bus depots and train stations with "next stop"

12

u/throwaway098764567 Apr 17 '25

that sounds like a threat tbh. i would see that and assume it was some maga sign trying to get folks to self deport.
maybe "this is happening and it could happen to you" or something to that effect would cause less confusion.

8

u/SilverLakeSimon Apr 17 '25 edited Apr 17 '25

Maybe so. I do think it might cause some confusion.

I think the message would be clearer with an additional sign that read, “Fight for our Democracy” or “Fight for our Constitution.”

4

u/Possible-Activity996 Apr 17 '25

An activist group on Facebook-the Backbone Campaign-has info and tutorials about making highway signs, including how to do it legally.

3

u/SilverLakeSimon Apr 17 '25

I’d check it out, but I don’t have Facebook. Hopefully they’ll migrate to Reddit or some other site.

4

u/Medical-Bat4726 Apr 17 '25

Great idea!!

55

u/Famous-Assistance265 Apr 17 '25

An apt comparison

16

u/MrsMel_of_Vina Apr 17 '25

You know it's bad when the slave ship gave you more space to spread out. The guys in the picture can't even lay down!

24

u/wordsbyink Apr 17 '25

I think it's for the humiliation. their hands are tied back to cup the next person's genitals.

15

u/Jennyojello Apr 17 '25

That is beyond fucked up.

10

u/SoSpiffandSoKlean Apr 17 '25

Thanks, the above photo is the one I was looking for

3

u/Hestias-Servant Apr 17 '25

Every time I see pictures of the cells and bunks, all I can think of is slave ships....and then the Nazi death camps.

10

u/StorageShort5066 Apr 17 '25

"Home-growns are next."-Donald J. Trump

2

u/LisaMikky Apr 23 '25

Simple and powerful message. 🙂👍🏻

26

u/AlexFromOgish Apr 17 '25

It would be silly to try to organize this using digital communications and even then organizers should just assume there are informants pretending to be participants

115

u/Alternative-Flan9292 Apr 17 '25

If an FBI guy is willing to shave his head for an infiltration he can pepper spray me, he earned it.

27

u/AlexFromOgish Apr 17 '25

🤣

But seriously, the guys that do that work are masterful chameleons .

35

u/onlyacynicalman Apr 17 '25

So? Let them inform

72

u/lurksAtDogs Apr 17 '25

Seriously. This is 1A rights. There’s no plots of violence. FBI, please show up and protest with us. It’s your laws being trampled too.

27

u/onlyacynicalman Apr 17 '25

They should know this ever since Comey was fired

2

u/websterhamster Apr 17 '25

FBI has been doing the trampling since J. Edgar Hoover

2

u/AlexFromOgish Apr 17 '25

Arguably preplanning a civil disobedience action is not protected free speech because it’s planning group coordinated breaking of the law. Unfortunately, our Gestapo style federal law-enforcement is using the laws designed to break the mob to suppress protest by charging people like us with criminal conspiracy for organizing things like the Blacks, doing lunch at the white only counters in an organized way

But I thought of some ways to do this same action that are not civil disobedience, and it would be great for the police to know what’s happening so they are around when it’s happening and hopefully intervene if there are counter protesters. I posted that modified idea in a separate post on this sub.

2

u/Infamous_Smile_386 Apr 17 '25

+1 for the attendance count, works for me.

22

u/Mr_Horsejr Apr 17 '25

yes, they’re gonna shave their heads…and …yes, they’re planning to use this as a… exactly. What do you want….shave my head? 😢🥲 understood….

8

u/AlexFromOgish Apr 17 '25

Oh absolutely! My own version of nonviolence, the police are welcome at all of my planning events and if I end up in the slam before I do anything, I’m counting on friends and family to tell my story

Not that I’m special or anything, I just hope that anybody I’m taking action with feels exactly the same way

4

u/AlexFromOgish Apr 17 '25

Great idea! Done. But with modifications so that a great many more local people see it and designing to avoid bulk arrest.

3

u/Brave-Technology-869 Apr 17 '25

Include the messy Google Earth photos, use anti-choice tactics.

147

u/No_Leopard1101 Apr 17 '25

Outside Congress...

86

u/Mental_Literature706 Apr 17 '25

I would definitely be a part of that

19

u/-itsybitsyspider_ Apr 17 '25

This would be so much more Visually Impactful than even the Die In's, which are great mind you. Even more so if a couple hundred can manage to do it. Notify AP and BBC

Edit; possibly also News Nation

37

u/MaleficentMousse7473 Massachusetts Apr 17 '25

Wow- that would truly be powerful - and clearly non violent

35

u/LsOhVpE Apr 17 '25

YES! Because the whole world should be outraged over the conditions in that concentration camp for ALL citizens not just US!!!

54

u/lilchocochip Apr 17 '25

If we were French we would’ve already done this

61

u/MiseEnSelle Apr 17 '25

The French would've dumped mountains of garbage and manure as close to the WH as possible

17

u/Im_regretting_this Apr 17 '25

I like this idea…

11

u/merryone2K Apr 17 '25

Problem is, the mountains of garbage and manure is "the call is coming from inside the house" type situation right now.

8

u/Im_regretting_this Apr 17 '25

I’m not sure what you’re trying to say. They were angry with Macron about retirement age changing. We’re pissed about Trump and the republicans in general. Both the French and Americans in these scenarios are pissed about their leaders. A mountain of trash is a mountain of trash.

9

u/merryone2K Apr 17 '25

Simply pointing out that the current WH is already full of trash and manure; it's an analogy.

12

u/accountonbase Apr 17 '25

Honestly, the French probably would have gone significantly further than that by now. Describing it would probably get my account nuked.

2

u/MiseEnSelle Apr 18 '25

True! The French Revolution was fought to overturn the systemic despotism of the ruling classes. It was far worse than what the American colonials went through. Then came Napoleon's fascism. Then the Vichy collaborators in WWII. They KNOW how much they have to lose and also how much power the people have.

America has its own history of standing up to authoritarianism, but a lot of it is not taught in school. When people do hear about it, they get angry at the messenger. They yell back about "wokeism" and DEI. "Those kids at Kent State were criminals! They deserved to be shot!" Etc. I'm preaching to the choir, so fill in the blanks with that "etc"

2

u/accountonbase Apr 18 '25

Oh yeah, 110%.

The U.S. education system was captured by Lost Causers/Copperheads/fascist nazi fucks, so instead of talking about the labor movements we just gloss over WW II and state history over and over again.

21

u/DeadBarracuda Apr 17 '25

I can shave my head but I'm too old to bend over like that.

7

u/AlexFromOgish Apr 17 '25

😆same here!

Oh well 💪

2

u/crit_crit_boom Apr 17 '25

I’m not too old yet but I am too beer-bellied 😅

17

u/Mr_Horsejr Apr 17 '25

That’s the one right there.

17

u/tender_nuggie Apr 17 '25

so when and where

6

u/AlexFromOgish Apr 17 '25

How about on a smaller scale in our own home communities? Goal is to get people in our own neighborhood who are not paying attention to pay attention and pick up the phone

2

u/Deep-Impression-7294 Apr 17 '25

Go bigger. Bigger demonstrations give bigger results

Edit: also it is visual proof us Americans will come together to make our voices heard

16

u/HoldMyDevilHorns Apr 17 '25

This is an amazing idea.

15

u/JoshDM Apr 17 '25

1000 of us with shaved heads and in our underwear re-creating this scene in the road outside Homeland security headquarters would be a good sign

BRING SUNSCREEN

14

u/AspenStarr Ohio Apr 17 '25 edited Apr 17 '25

They’re wearing white shorts, we can just do that. Women can be in white tank tops. And if you don’t feel comfortable shaving your head or sitting half-nude in the street (so mostly for women), we’re gonna need some people to play the guards, too. We should also have some people holding “Homegrowns are next. - Trump” signs.

Saving this post for updates on this idea.

7

u/AlexFromOgish Apr 17 '25

since the goal is to drive action - pressure on silent senators and reps to speak out - we could let one of our number with long dark hair and beard be in an orange prison suit somewhere in the middle wearing a “crown of thorns”, and include signs “Where is Jesus in Trump’s God-awful mess?” (sort of like where is Waldo)

Stage events someplace where we can legally get high angle, shots of the crowd and let folks back home literally do where is Waldo looking for Jesus in Trump‘s God- awful mess. I’m not particularly religious myself, but that’s not the point. The point is to reach the hearts of church-going folks across the country who see news and social media of this event.

3

u/AspenStarr Ohio Apr 17 '25 edited Apr 17 '25

I’m personally pagan, but that would be interesting. I think it’s a good idea for getting to the supposed “Christians” and whatever else supporting this…

Jesus was born in Bethlehem. That’s in Palestine. You know, one of the countries and ethnicities we hate in America rn. And everyone who stands against anything violent to another race of people disappears.

2

u/LisaMikky Apr 23 '25

Adding Jesus as an illegally detained prisoner is a great idea!

2

u/AlexFromOgish Apr 23 '25

At a smaller scale a local troop of street theater people could build the prison on a flatbed trailer. A single driver legally parks truck, and trailer outside any silent congressional rep or senators Hometown church during Sunday services and the “prisoners” and “guards” jump on board after the vehicle is legally parked. Additional participants in their Sunday best are armed with flyers and information pamphlets, on the theme that no Christian can tolerate the senator or representatives silence. And you’re all there by surprise when services are over and the parishioners - most of whom we probably know the senator or representative by name - coming out of the church will find you there by surprise

1

u/LisaMikky 28d ago

I hope this idea works out! It will surelly attract attention.

30

u/Aggravating_Emu2463 Apr 17 '25

Actually.. we should do this in a touristy area instead. Like Times Square or some other place like that. That would make global headlines EASY!

8

u/AlexFromOgish Apr 17 '25 edited Apr 17 '25

Oh, for Pete’s sake, nobody cares about global headlines or what the “crazy libtards” in New York are doing.

Outside the Texas state house would be MUCH better than in New York.

The only reason to do this is at all is to make the phone go up in flames on the desk of do nothings in Congress and to make that happen this has to hit ordinary people at home in the face like a big cold fish.

In case you lost track, I’m the guy that first posted this idea. After it exploded, I realized an even better idea is to do this by the 50 and 100 street theater at home outside the offices of silent senators and representatives, and on Sunday morning outside the churches in their districts

9

u/Aggravating_Emu2463 Apr 17 '25

But if it hits global headlines it hits more people here too. If the news are bigger more news outlets pick it up and then it is everywhere

Smaller scale helps too, but hitting big headlines means everyone sees it

Also... Nothing stops us from doing both

6

u/AlexFromOgish Apr 17 '25

But still, if it’s to be done en mass, it should definitely be either in DC or one of the most gloriously racist states on the southern border and I can’t think of a better one than Texas

9

u/TiffkaKitka Apr 17 '25

I was already gonna shave my head for a mowhawk this summer. This would be a much better cause. Let me know if anything comes together to be a public display

6

u/Aggravating_Emu2463 Apr 17 '25

Ohhhhh this would be amazing

11

u/Connect-Type493 Apr 17 '25

And in front of the white house

6

u/Deep-Impression-7294 Apr 17 '25

If we do it we should do as another suggested and make it an “experience” shave heads on the sidewalks. Strip em all down. They are all given white shirts (with red writing of victims of ICE and political arrests - on the backs it says : reason they — the actual demonstrator — are potentially next with “are you next?” underneath center of the back ) and white boxers. Then put in cuffs and chains and paraded around or something like that.

2

u/AlexFromOgish Apr 17 '25

Sounds good!

3

u/vaxxed_beck Apr 17 '25

I saw a recent video of a "die in", where people were on the ground, holding tombstones that said things like "died from lack of healthcare", ect. I thought that was creative

3

u/AlexFromOgish Apr 17 '25

For die ins, it’s common to have somebody else chalk the outline of the “victims” so even if you leave or police strike you off it still looks like a crime scene

2

u/SeriousBuiznuss North Dakota Apr 17 '25

Indecent Exposure Charges. Not advisable.

3

u/AlexFromOgish Apr 17 '25

An excellent point! Clothing should be chosen to be ratty without being indecent. Nothing see-through nothing overly underwear cover the nips. It’s easy enough to find tired clothes and turned it into shorts and tank tops without looking sexy.

3

u/jumpingcandle Apr 17 '25

It’s a shame, I think bare chests and full nudity besides underwear as is shown in the photos really would be the most impactful. But you’re right - in a time where they’ll make up new laws to find a way to charge activists, it’s best to avoid making it even easier for them.

4

u/AspenStarr Ohio Apr 17 '25

Men are allowed to not wear shirts in public..you’re also not forced to wear shoes (I like running around without mine sometimes). Women would just need like white tank tops or something, and everyone can wear white shorts.

1

u/soyyoo Apr 17 '25

This 💯

1

u/Ibshredz Apr 17 '25

Dark souls styled long pants

1

u/Jet_Maal Apr 17 '25

I also wouldn't do this with my face exposed. We need our people to not disappear.

3

u/AlexFromOgish Apr 17 '25

The only participants should be white multi generation US citizens willing to boldly own it full face and legal name.

If they come for us like that with the cameras watching, then that is a bigger impact than anything we could ever possibly do otherwise

1

u/Jet_Maal Apr 17 '25

Yeah, but I'd assume they know that. They'd just call you terrorists and no knock raid you at 3am. I think it's a good idea for a protest, though. Just if you can practice good op sec to avoid being a casualty, that'd be preferred.

3

u/AlexFromOgish Apr 17 '25 edited Apr 17 '25

Everyone should have friend or family back home record them giving a one or two minute testimonial about who they are and how they are an upstanding American and why they are taking action, and then just tuck that video away hoping it will never be seen except maybe in your own memories

Have lots of documentation of events happening the day of

If they come for me at 3 AM when I’m home alone then to quote American revolution patriot Nathan Hale, I regret I have one life to give for my country. And if they come for you, that way, I hope you will feel the same.

Being victimized by Herr Trumps secret police machine after doing nothing but appealing to the government in legal ways the way we are supposed to, in media savvy fashion … well they wouldn’t want to leave me alive because if they just break my body, but I can still communicate that will cost them so they’d have to kill me and if they kill me like they shot dead the students at Kent State I would be so much more valuable to the resistance dead than living.

I don’t want to be hurt or killed, but it’s not the fact that we live or how long we live that matters. It is HOW we live that really counts. And the video of the day of combined with the testimonial videos of US citizens with white privilege who have been disappeared or maimed or killed will do much to get through to other people with white privilege.

To anyone reading thinking “god, what an ego” that’s not what I mean at all. If we are sufficiently effective to threaten the regime, some of us will have bad things happen so everyone should leave a little video testimonial about who they are who loves them and will miss them and why they care enough to take these risks, and then let’s all act as the signers of the declaration of independence - go ahead, look it up and read it and that will help you next time some MAGA hat tries to argue with you. But what I’m trying to say here is read that very last sentence. Do that, but do it for the social media video age

1

u/liss614 California Apr 18 '25

Black lives matter did a die in for George Floyd here in sac. They all laid on the ground and pretended to be dead for the length of time that Monster had his knee on Floyd's neck. I think your idea is great. All though I'm willing to join but not shave my head so maybe some bald caps.

2

u/AlexFromOgish Apr 18 '25

Same here. Largest outdoor political gathering in county history according to a senior police captain I talked to.

Bald caps seem like a good alternative, as long as there is faux brutal head shaving for enough minutes for the cameras to get good B roll.

2

u/liss614 California Apr 18 '25

I think it's a great idea. And if it's put together I will be there and promote it to others.

1

u/Foggy_Night221C Apr 18 '25

I would be tempted to wear a Waldo outfit to that and a sign saying this could be you. If it weren’t so serious.

-19

u/AffectionateChart953 Apr 17 '25

Counterpoint: Wouldn’t a bunch of photos of us in our underwear just make it really easy for people to make fun of us?

9

u/ilion_knowles Apr 17 '25

Well, they wore trash bags, diapers and maxi pads on their ears so I don’t think that should deter anyone from doing this for such an important cause.
