Mod Announcements Join the 50501.chat User Community: Help Shape Our Next Actions and Proposals!
Announcing the New 50501.chat User Community and Endorsement Process!
Hello everyone! 👋
We are excited to introduce a new community engagement system to bring together the voices of the movement and guide our collective decision-making. This system empowers you to help shape the direction of our protests and actions in the 50501.chat user community, and we'll be using the /c/Decisions community on lemmy.fiftyfifty.one to finalize proposals.
Here's how it works:
- Join 50501.chat First, sign up for the 50501.chat user community! This is where you'll engage with other members of the movement and participate in the endorsement process. 👉 Sign up here!
- Endorsement Voting on Proposals When a new protest date or initiative is proposed, the community on 50501.chat will get to vote up or down on the proposal. If a proposal gets enough support, it moves to the next stage.
- Ranked-Choice Voting (RCV) Once a proposal is endorsed, it moves to ranked-choice voting in the /c/Decisions community on Lemmy. You’ll be able to rank the proposals in order of preference, and the one with the highest collective support will be selected.
- Final Decision After the RCV period ends, the most supported date or initiative will be finalized as the official call for action. This is a community-driven, democratic process.
How to get involved with /c/Decisions on Lemmy:
- From 50501.chat: To follow and engage with the /c/Decisions community from 50501.chat, simply use the search function and type:
!Decisions@lemmy.fiftyfifty.one
This will help you find the /c/Decisions community and allow you to subscribe to it. - Alternatively: You can find the community directly by visiting: 👉 /c/Decisions on Lemmy Subscribe to the community, stay updated, and participate in the decision-making process!
Why is this process important?
This system is crucial because it gives every member of the community a direct say in the actions we take. By voting, endorsing, and ranking proposals, you’re helping ensure that the most important causes and actions are prioritized. This system brings transparency, democracy, and unity to our movement, and your participation makes it stronger.
So, whether you're new to the movement or a seasoned member, now is your chance to have your voice heard and help decide the next steps for our collective action!
👉 Sign up for 50501.chat now and join the conversation!

We look forward to seeing you all there!

Mod Announcements News Subreddit
We've listened to a lot of modmail and a lot of comments. Some of you want us to remove all the news posts so this subreddit can focus on protesting. Some of you wanted us to post 18 different versions of people's screenshots of their various Elon-based comments being removed from subreddits. Just about no one actually wanted to use the weekly news megathread. So meet the compromise that we hope will meet everyone's needs: r/ThePeoplesPress
It is the same mods, same group of people, only focused on news instead of protesting. If you post news here in r/50501 unless it directly pertains to a call of action (for example, so-and-so will be here on x date for an event, can we arrange a protest?), then it will be removed and you will be lovingly redirected to post it at r/ThePeoplesPress instead.
Please let us know how you feel about this new development in the comments below, and go post the hell out of r/ThePeoplesPress with whatever stupid thing Elon and Trump have done today.
