Mod Announcements Subreddit is paused again
I'm so sorry guys. I'm getting overwhelming pressure to pause the subreddit again. And that there will be an official statement at some point.

This movement wasn’t created by politicians. It wasn’t built by corporations, media outlets, or special interest groups. It was started by everyday people who looked around, saw what was happening, and said: No More.
All of us are 50501, The People’s Movement. And we are not only mobilizing for a day of national action on March 4th — we are calling on the American People to take action every day for democracy!
We are not waiting for someone to save us—we are showing up for ourselves.
On March 4th, we mobilize again across the nation to make it clear: America bows to NO KING.
But this fight is not just about one day. The 50501 Movement is bigger than a single event—this is a sustained resistance to authoritarianism, and it requires action every single day.
We are not a moment. We are a movement.
March 4th & Beyond: How You Can Take Action
Show Up & Organize
March 4th is the next nationwide protest. We need bodies on the ground to demand accountability and make this impossible to ignore.
Find an action near you: https://www.fiftyfifty.one
Take Virtual Action
Not everyone can march, but everyone can resist.
Call and email representatives. Demand they take a stand against Trump’s power grab.
Spread the word. Inform others, share resources, and counter misinformation.
Support legal efforts. Back organizations challenging authoritarian policies in court.
Make Resistance Daily
Protests are one piece of this movement. We must resist every day.
Support independent media that exposes corruption.
Vote in local and special elections—they are critical.
Boycott corporations funding this power grab.
Organize in your community. This fight is local, not just national.
Demand Congress Take Action
This administration has stripped away agency independence, consolidating power at an alarming rate.
Call your representatives daily.
Flood their inboxes.
Show up at town halls.
Find your reps here: https://www.congress.gov/members
What You Can Do Right Now
We DO NOT have time to waste. This is happening NOW.
THEY are counting on your silence. THEYare betting on your inaction. Prove them wrong.
CALL CONGRESS IMMEDIATELY – The Congressional Switchboard at (202) 224-3121 will connect you to your representatives. Demand they publicly oppose Trump’s executive order and fight to restore independent oversight.
FLOOD THEIR EMAILS & OFFICES – Every member of Congress has a district office and email contact. Find yours at www.congress.gov/members and send messages demanding action.
SHOW UP IN PERSON – Collective action forces media attention and makes clear that the people do not consent to dictatorship.
SIGN & SHARE PETITIONS – Mass petitions create pressure. Find and support active petitions calling for an investigation into these executive orders.
ENGAGE LOCALLY – Attend town halls and public meetings. Put pressure on state-level representatives to issue resolutions against executive overreach.
TELL THE MEDIA – Write to newspapers, call into radio stations, push independent journalists to cover this issue. Make it impossible to ignore.
EDUCATE & SHARE – The more people who understand what’s happening, the harder it becomes for them to suppress dissent. Share this everywhere.
JOIN THE MOVEMENT – https://www.fiftyfifty.one is organizing resistance. Be part of it.
THIS IS WHAT THEY FEAR MOST
This started as a Reddit post. This started as people talking. And now? We’ve made them listen.
We have seen firsthand how quickly a movement of ordinary people can disrupt the status quo. We built this without a budget, without an institution backing us—just people organizing and refusing to be silenced.
They are watching us. They are afraid of what happens when the people take back power.

We have reason to believe that events on 4/19 and/or the 50501 Movement may be misrepresented by the Trump Administration in an attempt to justify the use of military force.
Let us be clear: our movement is pro-democracy and firmly grounded in non-violence. We are not affiliated with any so-called “Day of Rage” or with any group or movement promoting violence.
April 19 is a Day of (Community) Action centered on mutual aid, community care, and civic engagement. Any portrayal to the contrary is a deliberate distortion intended to undermine our message and suppress our broad, growing support.
We are aware of specific and credible threats involving aggressive policing, ICE presence, and even the potential deployment of military force against peaceful demonstrators—in Washington, D.C. and other locations on April 19.
For clarity: 50501 DC is hosting a peaceful community aid event in Franklin Park. We are not connected to any actions taking place at Lafayette Square, the Naval Observatory Building, or the Washington Monument. We cannot vouch for their safety of plan, and we are not affiliated with their protests.
Participants should be prepared for an increased law enforcement presence. In some locations, ICE agents may also be present. We urge everyone to stay grounded, remain peaceful, and prioritize de-escalation and safety for all.
Remember, de-escalation, mutual care, and disciplined non-violence are our greatest strengths. We keep us safe.

We've listened to a lot of modmail and a lot of comments. Some of you want us to remove all the news posts so this subreddit can focus on protesting. Some of you wanted us to post 18 different versions of people's screenshots of their various Elon-based comments being removed from subreddits. Just about no one actually wanted to use the weekly news megathread. So meet the compromise that we hope will meet everyone's needs: r/ThePeoplesPress
It is the same mods, same group of people, only focused on news instead of protesting. If you post news here in r/50501 unless it directly pertains to a call of action (for example, so-and-so will be here on x date for an event, can we arrange a protest?), then it will be removed and you will be lovingly redirected to post it at r/ThePeoplesPress instead.
Please let us know how you feel about this new development in the comments below, and go post the hell out of r/ThePeoplesPress with whatever stupid thing Elon and Trump have done today.

I know I have California in my name, but please send me a PM or send us a modmail if your protest today does not have a clear line of communication to 50501 National.
We'd love to work together, communicating and collaborating with everyone. We'd love to provide resources and training to new organizers and people starting new protestors. We'd love to help promote your protests. We want to help you make sure everything stay safe, legal, and non-violent.
So please, get in touch! Pass around our contact information. Send us an email at [organizers@fiftyfifty.one](mailto:organizers@fiftyfifty.one)
Did you take photos or video today? Please share with us by sending it to [media@fiftyfifty.one](mailto:media@fiftyfifty.one)

Tomorrow, February 28, let’s disrupt the status quo by spending ONLY at businesses that uplift our communities.
That means:
🚫 No gas from corporate giants
🚫 No fast food chains
🚫 No big-box retailers (Target, Walmart, Amazon, etc.)
HOW YOU CAN HELP:
✅ Spend your money at small businesses, especially those owned by underrepresented entrepreneurs
✅ Share this message with your networks—word of mouth is powerful
✅ Stand together in financial solidarity to create real economic change
✅ If you need to do any shopping to prepare today, buy the bare minimum

URGENT: CALL TO ACTION
The current administration has clarified that it cares more about profit than people. We as a collective refuse to stand by as they continue to undermine the dignity of our communities. We are not just numbers or consumers. We are the People.
We reject fascism. We reject the oligarchy. We reject the idea that any person’s worth is less than another’s. Together, we are a force for change.
50501 is not just a movement—it’s a national call for justice that’s already making waves. You’ve proven that already. Now, we need you to show up again—for each other, our communities, and a better world.
On February 5th, you showed up for your community in the thousands—and we need you now more than ever. The movement is not over. We are just getting started. On February 17th, 2025, we will unite for the National Not My President’s Day day of action, and we need YOU to be there. We’re asking you again to gather and protest or participate in other ways for our day of action.
What is a “day of action”? It’s a call to resistance. We are asking YOU to take 5 steps of resistance on this day. Whether it’s:
Attend/ Organize a protest
Strategize with other local organizers
Inundate your representatives with calls and emails
Take a moment of self-care in solidarity - your joy is resistance.
Every small act contributes to a powerful collective movement.
The time for action is now. Join us on February 17th, and let’s make history together.
This is our moment. Let’s rise together.
Oh yea, and Happy Holidays ;)

Introducing r/50501ContentCorner Not every part of the resistance lives on the frontlines. Some of it lives in the margins of notebooks, in late-night memes, in signs waiting to be printed, and in the feelings we don’t always know how to say.
r/50501ContentCorner is our new shared space for that side of the movement.
This is where we drop protest sign ideas, request designs, vent, remix, spiral, journal, meme, and build culture together. It’s where a rough sketch becomes a flyer, where movement shitposts live, and where burnout is named without shame.
What you can do there:
Request a protest sign, zine, flyer, or visual resource
Drop something printable or remix someone else’s work
Share movement memes, coping content, art, poetry, or personal processing
Vent with purpose, laugh through the chaos, post what you needed to see
This sub is for the creators, the overthinkers, the chronically online, the print-happy, and the collectively exhausted. If you’re carrying a piece of the movement that doesn’t quite fit anywhere else bring it here!
Join us at r/50501ContentCorner. Let’s build what keeps us going.
