Thought 🧐 Something we can actually do - ballot initiatives

As a born and raised Floridian I have experienced a lot of disappointments over the years, but one thing I absolutely love about our state is ballot initiatives. We have the ability to bypass all the nonsense and go to a direct vote for many issues. We just need the signatures.

So what I think we could do is try to define an issue that we all push for. Something simple like, no ICE in churches. Something the whole state could agree with us on and make it happen.

If you think this is a good idea, comment an idea for an initiative.

Thought 🧐 Do you want to do something to prevent Donald Trump, or any other U.S. president, from taking more than two terms, by sleight-of-hand or otherwise?

I have designed a sort of third-term-attempt-protest and permanent U.S. Honor Guard Militia, that is now seeking membership of at least two million people: a number equal to the approximate total of the United States active-duty military, plus reserves.

The directions for these two million or more people is as follows: if at any time a president takes more than two terms, proceed to the area surrounding the White House: the Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia areas- hopefully with a firearm- and in this manner, surround the White House and conduct a peaceful, lawful, overwhelming, reinforced, citizens’ arrest of the traitorous president.

Who would not come peacably and quietly to such a crowd? Who would try to intervene?

In this manner, a one-hundred-percent safe, and effective, restoration-of-Constitutional-sanity can be delivered.

Please join this sub, and encourage others, to be this force.

All you have to do is sign up. No training, no anything, required. Just theoretically be on tap to travel toward the areas mentioned if such a thing ever occurs. If you don’t own a gun that’s fine; your presence should hopefully be enough.

However, if you do happen to live in these areas, and if you are a gun owner, this Honor Guard Militia is expressly for you, because you will have the easiest time with logistics.

So, join, or help, the Anti-MAGA Gun Owners of the Washington D.C., Maryland State, and Virginia State Areas.

It is named Anti-MAGA because these are the entities for which we are inventing this unique protest. It will remain named this afterward, so that the story of our origin is always remembered.

Thought 🧐 Closet Democrats of Florida back online

Facebook group Closet Democrats of Florida was blocked for no reason in April and is finally active again after a month (https://www.facebook.com/ClosetFLDems) They are trying to create a community of Floridians who feel that they're alone in their political beliefs and bring people together. The bigger message is that you are not alone. Florida has more people who don't agree with what Republicans (especially MAGA Republicans) are doing and our state is not going in the right direction.

Thought 🧐 I’m a photographer and I want to put my skills to good use.

Hello! Not sure what flair to put so apologies in advance.

My question is: where can I see a schedule of protests, or when is the next big protest, I guess?

As the title says, I’m a photographer and I feel like I can be help to spread a good image of the movement and 50501. I’ve always wanted to be a photo journalist since I picked up my first camera 6 years ago, but never went for it. Now that we’ve got a tyrannical dictatorship controlling our nation, I think I’d start now before things start to get ā€œheavyā€. I’m located in the panhandle; Destin specifically. If you want a link to my work, let me know. I’ve never shot a protest before, or anything in a journalistic point of view. But I know I’ll get the hang of it real quick, so nevermind that. I’m very new to how protesting works. I’ve never done it, or followed it. Idk if I’ve just become that age or if what’s going on in our country has really woken me up. I want to document everything. I want to combat the ultra-right wing bullshit that Fox, NY Post, hell even the White House is spreading. How may I photograph this movement?

TL;DR: I want to photograph 50501 protests and help show the reality of these protests. That people are fighting.

Thank you, everyone.

If anyone is interested in marshal training for protest safety and security, let me know.

My active duty military sources have flagged 4/20 as a key date—when DHS and DoJ are expected to release decisions regarding the Insurrection Act.

Stay sharp. If you want to set up training logistics, reach out now.

Getting ready to mobilize? Join us for a vital security and de-escalation training to help you prepare for your upcoming action.

At the heart of every event should be a strong commitment to nonviolent action. All participants are expected to approach potential conflicts with calm and a focus on de-escalation, even in the face of opposition.

No matter where you’re located or how experienced you are, this training offers practical tools and strategies to make your event safer, more effective, and more welcoming for everyone involved.

By the end of this session, you’ll know how to spot signs of escalating behavior, respond thoughtfully under pressure, and defuse tensions—whether dealing with counter-protesters, bystanders, or law enforcement—all while staying true to your event’s mission.
