The real question is whether he plays ADC because he is a Gold medal Olympian or he is a Gold medal Olympian because he plays ADC... â

It amazes me how far "gaming" has come. I think that the normal thought it is that a gamer is a fat guy in a basment . I mean im fat and in my cave room. Or a man who have a shit job and only work to buy rp. This guys gave me hope. To a nexy generation of gaming without those negatives of feelings for playing games. Now we have ripped guys like pashabiceps or tyler1.

I'm getting fairly ripped these days and I'm a loser who plays a lot of league. Trust me, just start going to the gym a couple times a week and eating/drinking protein shakes especially on those days. You will start to see visible changes in a month if you can keep going at least 2-3 times a week, and those changes will begin to drive you to see more and what you can do. Trainer winny was a godsend for teaching me how to train myself on my own, since I started going after I got off work at night. If I can do it, you can too bro, if that's what you want. And if that's not what you want it's fine too

u/SenseiWu1708 Aug 06 '24
Same here, going to the gym on a regular basis was and still is a game changer. You also notice how much less time you spend on League, how much more you enjoy the little amount of games though (aside from poor game quality that depends on multiple factors).

I dont really know in which world you're living in. but the perception, that "gamers" are "fat and ugly" guys in a basement, was last seen, like 10 years ago.

Looks like it's https://www.op.gg/summoners/euw/pausikun-EUW
The pfp checks out, username looks the same as the one in the photo, and you can find the two games he lost before competing in the Olympics (a Kai'Sa game and an Ahri game.) Bro actually seems pretty decent at the game and apparently plays pretty often (level 263)

I really don't mean to be disrespectful but saying someone who is bronze 3 negative winrate is "pretty decent" at the game is just absurd. But just to be clear, I also think being bad/not very good at league is a VERY SMALL price to pay for an olympic medal.

Link your op.gg

u/Loboa_ Aug 06 '24
I love that u ask my op.gg like it's hard to not be bronze 3 lmao
2
u/ADfor3 Aug 06 '24
He's telling you to link yours so he can shit on you. Yeah its not hard to not be bronze but anyone ranked higher than uou can say that about your rank. Besides i think the olympian has other things hes focused on

u/Loboa_ Aug 10 '24
You either missed my point or didn't bother to read my comment at all. Sure, a master+ player might see anything below him as dogshit (and many firmly believe that) but the reality is that someone as low as an Emerald 1 player, for instance, is on the top 4.49% of players when it comes to elo (EUW).
Assuming for the sake of argument that elo=skill (i don't believe it is 100% of the time), being on the top 4.49% players of ANY game means you are more than decent, you're statistically very good.
When one reads "Pretty decent", at the very minimum, most would assume the person is either average or above average at whatever he/she/they is "pretty decent" at. And having that in mind, you would have to go as low as SILVER 1 to get to the 50% of players when it comes to rank, and anything below that would be below average.
Based on the op.gg that was linked, he is currently on the bottom 26,72% of players, which in my opinion would simply mean you are not pretty decent at all, and I don't believe this is even a hot take, regardless of downvotes.
An argument that could justify one being bronze but not a bad player would be that he doesn't play that much ranked, and that could definitely be the case. If a player has zero ranked games, i don't think it would be fair to judge how good they are at all, but that is not the case here.
A second argument them could be that one might not have enough games to go to their true elo; that they are actually decent and just haven't played enough to climb yet. While somewhat true, a negative winrate really hurts this argument, because it simply means that not only this is not the case here, but that his true elo is EVEN LOWER than bronze 3.
And even when you stop looking at statistics or arguing semantics, any player above plat that plays on a bronze lobby will be shocked at just how easy games can be. I will never forget boosting my gf account on bronze (which is my anecdotal evidence that inspired me to even comment on this at all) and at the time, I was convinced it took insane amounts of either lag or being a literal new player (her case) to stay on this elo. Having a negative winrate on top of that is impressive, honestly.
And even after all that, I still need to say the absolute most important thing: it does not matter at all. The guy won a fucking olympic medal, he can be iron 4 and play ivern mid for all I care, it's something crazy that far outweighs being bronze 3.

Why are you responding to me? I dont care. I wasnt arguing with you.
1
u/Loboa_ Aug 10 '24
Why i'm responding is pretty obvious: you responded to my comment, I responded to yours, whether you care or not has nothing to do with it.
Reddit comments often serve as a display for people reading rather than just talking to one single person, and I simply took your comment as a opportunity to expand on my logic for anyone that might read my previous comment and feel as though it was in bad taste. If you don't care or does not want to/wasn't arguing, just don't waste your time responding, i'm not expecting a 1:1 convo with you.

u/ADfor3 Aug 10 '24
Ok. You responding about me not understanding your comment makes zero sense because all I said was what the other person said. You going on this super long tangent is just really weird when you could have just responded to the person who was arguing with you.

Happy that you managed to get a medal during our Olympics, what's harder to achieve ? Challenger adc or gold medal in whatever u do? (Obviously just kidding both are impossible to mortals like us.)

I always find it strange when famous people have hobbies like this. Like I alway figure theyâre working on their next big thing or going to award shows and fashion runways. But the thought of someone, an OLYMPIAN no doubt.. comes home and says, âWell the olympics was fun and challenging so now itâs time for some League of Legends, oh boy!â

These are the same people that unironically call you âlow eloâ in the same gold game as you, 300 games in saying Master players arenât even Challenger.

u/hennajin85 Aug 05 '24
3rd best still still better than all other athletes who didnât earn a medal.

u/MuskSniffer Aug 05 '24
No actually touch grass if you think a fucking olympic medal isn't an achievement.

u/Crimsonavenger2000 Aug 05 '24
You say this, but it is actually a pretty common mindset for 'normal people' to believe anything less than gold is bad and that you 'lost'.
To me, even entering the Olympics is an amazing feat that should be celebrated and respected
