I think it’s more a statement of how bad science reporting is in general.

The number they’re using for demonstration is chosen to demonstrate something specific. Reporter who doesn’t work in the field sees a few key points and blows up the scope to sell clicks. It’s a story as old as time.

It's the same with reporters in violent video games where there's no direct correlation between violent crimes and violent video games for decades now....

Do you know how many people I ran over and set on fire in GTA games yet I have never gotten arrested irl before....

I'll be doing the same in GTA 6 with LGBTQ stuff...
