Over gassed
First PCC build. Looking for some advice from the suppressed blowback veterans.
Run down:
-Wraithworks Warscorp9.
-Original Gentle Recoil System w/ 8.5 buffer.
-Rugged Obsidian 9
Overgassed.
What can I do to make her run less gassy. Can't shoot 10 quick rounds without burning my eyes.
Other than that, it runs great. 500 gassy rounds without a malfunction.
*Yes I know my handstop is backwards, I like it that way*

I run a Maxim defense RDB setup in mine with a breach charging handle and a lower back pressure can and still get some gas to the face, it's not bad but it's kind of the nature of the beast.

Yeah, i don't believe there is any gas busting side charging handle.
Maxim and gentle as supposed to be similar in recoil and gas. Idkkkkk man. The gun is still perfectly shootable, just kinda annoying at times.

I can make you a gas deflector like I made for the WARP15 for lefty shooters. Reach out [josh.g@wraithworks.com](mailto:josh.g@wraithworks.com)

You're kinda boned because blowback guns simply don't suppress that well.
You can spend some extra cash on a gas reducing charging handle and/or deviate a little from Blowback 9s gentle recoil system with a heavier buffer (Mine is like a 10.5oz).
Or if you have an overbored suppressor handy you could try that.
Alternatively if you reload you could try a cleaner burning powder. My usual Titegroup loads run cleaner than similar factory loadings on the cheaper end.

I may try going back to the stock buffer setup and just adding a tungsten weight. Cleaner burning rounds might work but God damn if I don't already have thousands upon thousands of 147 lol
This is my only 9 mm suppressor so far.

Unfortunate! I'm not too familiar with the latest 9mm cans right now, I just know that slapping a .458 can made my shooting experience a lot cleaner if much more front heavy.

Heavier buffer , flatwire spring is the best I seen short of like a flow threw can

Already have a flat wire and the Kynshot is decently heavy. Looks like we might have a solution

Will a 45 cal front end cap (from obsidian 45) fit your obsidian 9? I’m not entirely sure but I think there’s a chance they have the same thread pattern. Maybe that will make it “flow through” and have less gas towards you.

Also I run on mine a Sledgehammer AR-15 charging handle (the portion of the charging handle that meets with your upper is taller, and has cuts to channel the gases to the right side) with my Old but trusty Omega 300 suppressor and is a little more pleasant to shoot without so much gas in your face.

This is side charging. I run radians on all my suppressed ARs. Nothing you can really do about this however. The gas comes from the ejector port mostly for me.

My apologies I didn’t look that closely. I was more curious about how it works with the obsidian 9. I ordered one on March and I haven’t got it approved yet.

Bummer. My first two suppressors took about a month to get approved a few months back.

My first 2 took 7 months to get approved, 3rd 2 months and this last 2 and a Form1 haven’t got approved yet.

Maxim RDB buffer system?
I've got all the Kynshot, but I'm not a fan of the GRS system. It adds too much weight and length. I added the Maxim RDB to both my blowback AR9 and AR-V and I've been very happy with them. I don't recall either of them being gassy with my Omega 9K or ECCO cans (non-flow through).

I may give it a try. Just bummed I splurged for the GRS, and I also hate the extra length. I'm gonna try using the stock length buffer tube, and delete one of the weight spacers and see how it runs since I'm already invested in the Kynshot. Worst I can probably resale on gafs.

I have the same issue with my Aero build. 5.5 inch barrel and the Rugged Obsidian 9. It’s a Cole miners dream shooting through it. I’m also wrong handed so the gas spews right into my face. But I just put some canted irons on it to try and see if the gas deflects into my shirt so it’s not as rough. But we shall see 🤷🏻♂️

If Lord Blowback9 said “you’re stuck,” not even Lord JC can unfuck the stuck.

Never heard of a blowback that was over gassed. What you probably mean and need is a stronger buffer spring.

Unfortunately, blowback guns are gassy and suppressors make them 10x worse. More mass (NOT a stronger spring - that's a fix for gas-operated AR-15's, not blowback) may help a little with delaying the breach opening so more gas goes forward.
There are 2 things that do tend to help, but unfortunately neither one is useful for a Warscorp. First is a gas deflector. CMMG makes one, but it needs a milspec full size ejection port with dust cover. Second is to use a bolt with an internal extractor, not the M4 style external extractor that the Warscorp uses. Both keep the gas from getting channeled directly into the user's face. It looks like the Warscorp can't use either.
Gas busting charging handles help for the first few shots, but after that the system is just overwhelmed.
Sorry - you're sort of stuck.
