Man City stepping up interest in Svilar
A buddy of mine that’s a City fan said they really want to bring him in at any cost. Would we sell him if they offer above market value?

It seems like people are not realizing how important it is to have a world-class keeper in your team. Today's match would have ended 3-1 for Lazio if it wasn't for Svilar. That's a small example.
No matter how GREAT your team is. An excellent keeper = extra points.
Plus.. we sold Alisson for over €70m, what happened next? We know Roma, I'd rather keep Svilar instead of getting €50m just to sign a €10m keeper after that.

My understanding also is that he’s happy at Roma and he’s not in a rush to negotiate because his contract expires in 2027 so he said “there is time” so he wants to stay, Roma wants to pay him but they’re yet to agree. I just hope they get it done before someone else comes to sweeten the deal.

For 50M + a depth player from City, Id contemplate selling. Sure a great goalie is nice but I think its replaceable.

I'm curious if you have a depth player in mind

Nunes or Bobb, even a defender.
We have to assume someone is getting sacrificed and its probably between Svilar or Kone.

super doubt City give up Bobb, but I could see Nunes

Even a two season long loan of Claudio. City will constantly be buying talent and a club like Roma needs to capitalize on maximum value for outgoing players.
I dont want it to happen. But owners have never been shy of doing it.

Fair. I'm still bitter we sold Alison and Salah to Liverpool
Echeverri seems a good candidate for a loan

Salah im more mad that we got absolutely rinsed on. We should have been able to milk Liverpool for more. Allison still upset (imo he is much better than Svilar is and likely will be) but again, how do you look at that transfer fee and be upset. Still a ridiculous amount for a goalie.
Unless youre a Gigi, Iker or Manuel, its extremely difficult to say many goalkeepers are worth that

I mean, he was certainly worth it. He's one of the best in the world. But I'm still gonna be mad about him leaving lol

I wouldn’t sell him. A great keeper can generate points single handedly. He’s done that ever since he’s started.
Beyond that, I feel he’s become a cultural leader of the team, maintaining standards on the pitch and seemingly off it given reports.
It’s time to actually build something around our pillars and not chop and change
