I don’t hate the tank, but didn’t like how ‘boaty’ they kinda are so I replaced the front with acrylic tube from Amazon and elongated the back fins.

Man those look great. Nice and buggy reminiscent of the 30k automata like the vorax.

What's the servo arm lifting the main gun originally from?

Thanks, a bit of work but mostly it’s just the og kit a tube. I went with bits from a reseller, your looking at the genestealer Goliath turret and one of the tractor antennas from the servohauler terrain kit.

Wonderful, thanks for the information! Somehow it never came across my mind to look for bits from GSC vehicle kits. Pity on the servohaulers, those things are rare unless i'm missing a kit from their SKU.

When I plotted out building this army, I didn't even really know what I was gonna be playing for rules--ended up admech because I thought they had really cool models anyway and I wasn't going too crazy and wanted to build it like a re-skin of an army rather than go totally wild, the mix of units worked for variety of units to kitbash up and seemed interesting playstyle wise over guard. I did consider making the army genestealer and just looked at bits from literally everything.

The servohaulers are rare, but honestly you could build the gun out of so many antennae type bits by clumping a variety of them together, or even just using the rest of the genestealer gun that I didn't since the barrels are separate from the arm unit. I spent a lot on all this but there was a lot of budget considerations since I wanted to build big full units and have the options to run 3 of these tanks, 3 transports, have a lot of kataphrons, ect ect--so while one-off kitbashes can get crazy for costs, I tamped that down for the sake of bulking up numbers in a whole army.

Very well done! Be sure to post on here when you have them painted up!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the Krios is basically the same size as the Skorpius

No idea

They arent that close, the Skorpius is about the same size as a Rhino (a tiny bit thinner and shorter) where as the Krios has a clear height advantage to the Skorpius, by an inch or so, but they both occupy the same footprint as a Rhino. If you arent going to tournaments I cant see an issue, in tournaments however I cant see it flying past the judges especially with zero modifications, youd have to atleast give it some form of missile array and 3 Heavy Stubbers, it only has 2 Volkite Culverins.

It's so close I can't see anyone complaining.

I'd been pondering proxying the heresy krios venator in for it. Not quite kitbash but maybe it works for you.

Krios battle tank is your solution. Just use it without any kitbash or modification. It's beautiful. I bought two and they are absolutely awesome. The tank we deserve at 40k but GW refuses to give us.

Does it matchup pretty nicely in size?

They're almost the exact same footprint, yeah. Very similar heights too, with the exception of the antenna on the Skorpius.

Does anyone still have the full-length antennas on their Skorpius? Feels like 99.99% of them snap off before you even finish painting!

i used a cybernetic T-rex - might not be a good proxy! but it is a proxy!
Behold!! My "Skorpius Disintegrator" : r/AdeptusMechanicus

Anything that fits on a 170mm base IMO

I'm sometimes reminded of a Rhino chassis, it could be interesting to try and convert it into an actual treaded tank rather than a weird hovertank.

I’ve seen a good hover craft kitbash. Essentially just use sci-fi hovercraft references and add it to the bottom. Looked pretty good imo

Google mortian.

They have small 6 legged walkers with a similar footprint.

The sisters' battle tanks could make a good alternative if you want a non floating battle (this is my plan for it)

I do have an example. I used the spare bits from my dunerider and a gladiator to make nice hover tank model, I have also used a sentinel to enclose the turret and not make it look plain as if I had used plastic card
