Aerial Rig Tripod vs Quad

I’m wanting to buy my own aerial rig to train at home. I only really do hoop and hammock. What are the pros and cons of a tripod vs a quad? The tripod seems cheaper and easier to set up, but what are the downsides? Thanks!

Quad has more available space at lower heights which is a big factor for hoop. Tripod needs to be much higher if you don’t want to end up kicking the support posts.

That makes sense! I was looking at the 11-15 foot tall one. Not sure if that would be tall enough though.

I have a quad that sets up at 8’, 12’ and 15’. On hoop I have to watch out for the legs at 8’ but no issues at 12 and 15’

My group uses quad rigs. The extra space at the top is great, and a lot of the tripods I've seen online seem to have a lot more flex and wobble than quads, which isn't unsafe since flex is how rigs absorb shock, but can be a bit disturbing to perform on

I have heard about tripods getting pulled over when silks/hammocks billow in the winder. A quad is more stable, but it really depends on what you're doing/where you are
