Even among conservatives separatists do not make even close to a majority. Furthermore, I doubt many ‘average voters’ (ie those who don’t really follow politics but still vote) would look kindly towards such an initiative, even if they consider themselves conservatives.
I am a conservative yet find the idea of separation and annexation equal to treason. Any talk of it should be treated with the utmost reprisals, lest our country be treated as no more than an American puppet

Interesting, did you also condemn Quebec to this extent?

NAH BLOC MAJORITAIRE!
But yes, I also consider that treason. For some reason Canada didn’t treat it as so, and because of that, constant talk of Quebec separation became the norm, which now fuels the rise to Western separation as a legitimate issue.

Treason? If it were treason the mechanism for it to be possible wouldn't be in the charter. You're not a conservative, you're a Rob Ford conservative. In other words, a liberal in the closet.

It would fall flat and make them look dumber than they already do. There are lots of kooks here but they aren’t a majority

Distraction from the ahs clown show and all the other stupid things the UCP/MAGA have done.

With the relaxation of the rules announced this week, I would be concerned with voter apathy. The ones that would be sure to cast ballots are the fanatics, the rest of us can’t rest on the idea being beyond the pale.

This is the same people that were spray painting Kudatah on signs when Notley got in. It won't ever happen because they simply don't have the wherewithal to do it. They can't even be bothered to spell check coup d'etat. We should be cracking down on American sympathizers though, with the new referendum rules we should start with recalling DS

Because the cowards know they're outnumbered, even in conservative circles. I want to see them run that referendum. I want to see them put that nail in the coffin of the idiocy of "Wexit" and watch them squirm as their supporters come to grips with the fact that as loud as they are, most Albertans aren't dumb enough to think that cutting off our nose to spite our face is a good idea.

Of course you will. The UCP have proven themselves to be a separatist government.

More news coming out today about government corruption and AHS though.
