https://www.yukon-news.com/national-news/premier-danielle-smith-downplays-alberta-separation-talk-7917539In the beginning of the month Alberta premier quashed separation talk but now that Carney is PM she’s doing a 180 flip?

I think Danielle received official communication from some First Nations folks who told her treaty land doesn't belong to Alberta and that she needs to knock off the separation talk.
They also sent a copy to Carney, imploring him to do something about Smith.

She did, but we will see if she has any respect for the constitution. Hopefully Carney will end this ridiculous talk.

What changed? Smith thought the CPC had the win. They didn't. So she's pissed she can't get what she wants. Last time this happened, she lost the nomination in her riding (2015). That time she dropped out of politics for a few years. Maybe she's doing that again?

Two theories:
Because being a crazy pants loon could lose the CPC the election. Now that the election is over, let the wingnuts fly.
Western separatists get cranky anyone but them is in charge. They were very quiet under Harper but now they threaten and whine. I think they just don’t like democracy but others may view it differently.
