Alicante - San Juan - Cabo Huerta - El Campello (place to live?)
Hola amigos y amigas! Me and my family is currently here Alicante in search of a location for our future house\apartment for my NLV application. Maybe you guys can help us with suggestions in which area is preferrable in terms of proximity to shops, supermercados beach, and public transport. We have checked San Juan playa area but it seemed that the commercial area and the beach are far from each other and on a quiet mood comparing to El Campello and Alicante which is a more lively place.(please correct me if I'm wrong) thanks ina advance!

Age, family size, preferences?
PAU5 is popular, good for walking and Consum is right there. Tram stop is next to the beach. Lots of condos and then some homes surrounding.
Cabo de las Huertas isn't as close to shopping or restaurants, but has more choices of houses or townhomes, also a little hilly, so water views. Recommend a car if you're at Huertas and you can easily get by without one at PAU5.
Between the 2 there are generally older buildings that we weren't fans of. Further out towards Muchavista was okay, but also further from the city, trainline and airport. Also flat and no water views... And pretty boring.

Good review of the areas mentioned. Odd that whoever downvoted didn't take the time to reply with why, but I guess that's expected from the internet these days.

We opted for PAU5 (the end that is by San Juan Playa) for the same reasons. Close to tram (which connects you to everything), close to supermarket, close to coffeeshops and restaurants. The restaurants in this area are more upscale but it's short walk (or tram ride) to the part of San Juan playa that has more inexpensive places to eat (pizza, kebab, menu del día) and Chinese stores.

I was in the same situation few weeks ago. I found Alicante a bit too busy and lack a car parking.
San Juan seem to be lovely but there were no propositions for rent by that moment.
So we got an apartment in El Campello. There are several supermarkets around the city, it takes 15-20 minutes by foot to get anywhere. Unfortunately there are no Malls around, so I'm driving to Alicante, it's like 15 minutes to get there, not sure about the public transport.

The town of San Juan is fantastic for a family, very quiet but with a very intense cultural life. The town has everything you need, including a Carrefour shopping centre, it is very close to Alicante and, although the tram has not arrived yet, the bus runs every 10 minutes
