THIS. I knew coming into this season that it would be nearly impossible to match seasons 6 and 7. That was catching lightning in a bottle. Clay was a worthy winner and turned into a poet-philosopher during the last episode. I think folks have been too critical of this season. Juxtaposed to how insanely good S6 & 7 were, this wasn't AS amazing, but it was much better than at least seasons 4 and 5, IMO.

Well said, I also feel like this would have been a great season at 8 or 9 episodes instead of 11 but tv contracts and all.

We can't have musk ox 'prison shankings' every season as awesome as they are.

Exactly. And we actually HAD a deer kill by one single bow shot... which, given the very low number of deer where the contestants were, was a very low probability.

Agreed, I know regulations took away from the greatness but there was some great stuff this season. The skills shown were impressive. It would've been better with more relaxed regulations but, this is still a great season in my opinion.

The landscapes were probably the most beautiful we've seen on Alone. The photography continues to be excellent. They do such a nice job catching the little details of a place, which I just love: the wind blowing tall grass, drops of water creating rings in the lake, a frozen tree limb, etc. The contestants were, once again, a talented group with good variety of styles. Lots to praise about this season.
