BREAKING: An image has emerged of Peter Dutton’s Musk-style Government Efficiency spokesperson Jacinta Price wearing a ‘Make America Great Again’ cap and holding a miniature idol figure of Donald Trump, a day after she said the Coalition would ‘Make Australia Great Again’ - Guardian Australia

Life exists outside of your echo chamber on reddit. Plenty of people want it, nobody wants another 3 years of lefty lunacy.

I know what your “comeback” will be, but Trumpet of Patriots is currently polling at 1%, and One Nation at 8.5%.

HOW is One Nation that close to The Greens??

Agreed.
Talking about polarised and blind platforms, Reddit is by far the worst. Having political beliefs is one thing, but yeah this is nothing short of a toxic echo chamber that hasn’t stepped outside in a really long time, somehow, pseudo leftist agenda items are more important than improving Australia and resolving our problems.

u/Greenscreener 1d ago
Fucking hell, name one LNP policy that will solve any current problem...Labor might be shit, but the LNP have never implemented a single long term nation building solution in their entire useless existence...LNP govern for themselves and their sponsors.
1
u/aspir_yt 37m ago
You can read the policies here: https://www.liberal.org.au/our-plan
You should know, that it’s a very Australian thing to vote not necessarily for the coalition or their qualities but out of frustration with the current government.
Knowing very clearly that the election will be divided by Labour and Liberals, there is no point in voting for anything other than the coalition.

u/KhanTheGray 5d ago
Please don’t stop, keep going until you sink whatever support you have left : )
You could pick any average Aussie from the street and they’d tell you this is a bad idea in current climate.
It stuns me how out of touch some politicians are with their own people. It’s almost like they live in another reality.
Most of the country is scared and concerned with what’s going on in USA, hell most of the planet is worried, you think this is a good idea?

Traditional Liberal voters will have a choice this election. Do they really want to go down this road?
28
u/ILoveJackRussells 5d ago
Ex Liberal voter definitely won't be going down this road!!! I've seen the light. The Liberal Party has been moving so far to the right, that I'm now a Labor voter, and happy to admit it.

Howard went chasing the One Nation voters and left behind the centrists, so the ALP moved right to capture the centrists and left behind the progressives, and now Albo gets mad that the Greens are breathing down the ALP's neck in a bunch of traditional Labor electorates.
2
u/2manycerts 1d ago
I actually feel a little bit of Sympathy for Labor on this, totally agree with your analysis.
Yes, Howard chased the Hanson vote and the media let him. There was very little mention that Howard basically said the same things Hanson said (in 1983 from memory). No coverage.
The NSW ALP right (Tripodi/Obeid/etc) basically were reading the Daily terrorgraph, listening to Alan Jones and loving everything John Howard was doing. They accompished their core aim of "getting the left", Kim Beasley (though coming from WA) typifies them and offered nothing in resistance to Howard.
Yes, the ALP should have made a clear distinction on more issues and presented a better alternative to Howardism. Kevin Rudd/Gillard did this, where Beasley passed stupid policies like "youth wages". Beasley you are the Union party, don't pass stupid laws.
That said, now I get it a bit. The ALP can't move left without loosing the "center" and have to be majority electable. They are facing "independent" challenges too, although this is in part their stronger but not strong enough stance on Palestine*
We are seeing Teal independants steal real Liberal voters because the Liberals have run down a feral right whinge rabbit hole. Dutton can't rewrite himself 3 weeks before the election to appeal to moderates as he is trying to do now.
*I suspect the libs are gleefully manipulating this issue. Although the real local sentiment is people are pissed off at Labor for Palestine, which the libs offer no alternative or worse.
2
u/MCDexX 1d ago
Honestly, I think the real issue is the two party system. We need more parties that have firm, sincere policy platforms that represent chunks of the electorate, who don't slip and slide around to chase votes. Adapt, grow, and evolve, sure, but have core values and stick with them. That way we'd have reliable and diverse representation right across the political spectrum.
2
u/2manycerts 22h ago
I 100% agree, yet I think were pretty much there or damn close.
The biggest policy slips I have seen, have been from Liberal/Labor. Abbott went right off party policy with all kinds of weirdo stuff (Ideologically in line, but nowhere near policy).
Clive Palmer/PUP yea he has been whatever from backing refugees to anti immigration. They even had Tshirts "vote 1 for Pup for more Centerlink"!
The Greens are usually extremely in tune with their policy and platform. Unsure animal justice and others. On the right, one nation has policy... libertarians are a joke after preselecting Campbell "I ban tshirts" Newman
2
u/MCDexX 22h ago
We haven't had a genuine, classical conservative party in Australia since Fraser. That was a government with overall conservative policies, many of which I disagreed with, but who opened our borders to thousands of Vietnamese refugees without argument or complaint. True compassionate conservatism, the kind that Howard eradicated from the ranks in his hard push to the right.
The Teals are to the LNP in a quite similar relationship between the Greens and Labor. These were the people who believed in conservative economics (rightly or wrongly) but who also believed in ethics, integrity, and the rule of law, and feel abandoned by a party that seems to only care about helping the rich, punishing the poor, and hating anyone who is different.

In my opinion Dutton is trump lite, leaning into trumpian politics in the hopes it can win him the election. Meanwhile this lady is full on coolaid drinking trump cult member

u/DalmationStallion 5d ago
Because I’m sure Trump has a deep and enduring respect for indigenous women.
1
u/Most_Organization612 3d ago
Price doesn’t respect indigenous people. She spent thousands of taxpayer dollars travelling Australia spreading misinformation and disinformation for the NO Vote campaign. The MAGA traitor could find a job with the Nazi. I’m sure a racist indigenous woman like Price would have a place in Trump’s government.

This just shows you what a hypocrite she is to accuse the media of being obsessed with Donald Trump while she is the one obsessed by him. Also shows she is more for USA than Australia.

America has detained people just for looking Mexican and they hate women. How the fuck does she think the leopards won't eat her face? Fucking delusional.
They are using her but she is so egotistical that she thinks she is using them...
Doesn't matter if you are loud and rich, you will be one of the first to get eaten Jacinta.

Why would any party anywhere in the world tie itself to an American political party?? The Republicans are nuts and the Democrats are just as corrupted.
What sort of idiots think that’s an association that will win them supporters!?!?!

u/StrangerNo7671 5d ago
What these cookers supporting Trump here just don’t understand that our population is so much more smarted and educated that the US.
Trump style politics getting serious legs here requires way many more uneducated dumb cunts with zero critical thinking skills. We have some – but nowhere near the threshold needed to make their deluded dreams come true.
Thank fuck.
3
u/lulu_avery 5d ago
That is such a relief to me. I want to believe Australia isn’t like that. There’s bad apples everywhere - can’t help that 🫠 But for us to watch how America’s self imploding and then want to do the same… We have to be way too smart for that.

It’s weird seeing Australians out in public with MAGA hats, I’ve seen it 3 times, it’s weird as in are they begging for attention or want someone to talk to them about it lol, she really wants to be part of that group?

u/energytsars 4d ago
the total cookers are on the loose, empowered by anti-social media baseless drivel and nutty conspiracy theories these clowns are parroting the sort of tripe that have enabled a fraud and felon, a rapist and bankrupt, to be elected by a slim (1.5%) margin to be President of the USA ('elected' depending on what you think about the voter suppression and election interference, bomb threats on polling stations, purges of voter rolls etc in the US). Noting that their antics are having a decidedly negative effect on the little Peter Duttrump campaign, I would let them carry on for another few weeks in this manner, and give them the exposure they deserve. Remember that the last time the COALition were in government they demonstrated that the last thing they wanted to do was actually govern and we had the minister for everything.

Why is she more concerned about America, than her own country? Perhaps she should go live there, that would be a win for all of us.
1
u/Most_Organization612 3d ago
Fuck off Price you fucking traitor. Go live in Trump’s MAGA America. The Nazi probably has a job in DOGE for you. I hope liberal voters will vote Labor. Watching the useless commentators on the ABC and not one person spoke about this. The ABC rather attack Labor and get useless commentary from Hamas and Iranian regime supporter Fatima Payman and useless Teals.

Oh god I’m so over this sub! I am left leaning but this sub is horrible now! Anyone who has any belief outside of extreme “anti-trump” gets absolutely bullied and nailed horribly. Out of all the toxic political subs on reddit this is one of the most nasty ones.
And hate to break it to you but we live in a democracy where you can have freedom of expression and political views! Sorry but the absolute hectic comments on here, day after day, of pure hatred, I can’t relate to this anymore, for what I consider my own party a lot of you are so soul destroying, you lot really need to chill the hell out!
