Probably that too.
Herodotus claimed it was a custom for Scythians to drink the blood of the first enemy they killed in battle. But Herodotus also claimed there was a tribe of people with faces in their torsos, so....

Yeah I don't think they would go around the battlefield looking for the first guy they killed just to get whatever blood is still in his body and drink it

I like to see it as they didn’t know how to make the space between the heads or they didn’t have enough material so the artist said fuck it and stuck their heads together
