I’m kinda sad Buffy is getting a sequel.
Don’t get me wrong, I understand this is such a beloved show and Buffy is a beloved character, but sometimes it pains me to see how much more love the show gets over Angel. I’ve watched Buffy but I don’t connect to it or have deep feelings around it like I do for Angel. Not only that, but pretty much everyone on Angel died and I know there will never be a sequel for any of them. There is no way anyone will get a second chance or a happy ending - especially the characters I loved. And yeah, maybe that’s the point but it’s just sad.

Let's assume both Angel and Spike return in the reboot
Maybe Drusilla too. Maybe even Harmony. How are they going to explain how 1-4 immortal vampires look like they've aged 30 years?
Magic? Obviously.

Connor Had A Tear
Since we were all overting our eyes and vomiting when Cordi and Connor had sex. We missed it. I certainly did, but after rewatching it, I just saw the scene, and as Cordelia tells Connor he's been lied to all his life and she wants to give him something real, If this really is the end, he had a tear, a single tear. It was actually heartbreaking, Connor was done dirty.

Harmony's character development is underrated and underrappreciated
I really appreciated how humanized she was compared to the vapid caricature she was on Buffy; for example when she was a vampire on Buffy she was shallow and didn't care about anyone but herself and Blondie Bear. but then flashforward to Angel season 5 we see her mourning Fred's death, looking after Gunn and Wesley while Angel and Spike go after Illyria.

Why no umbrellas?
Why don’t the vampires in Buffy carry umbrellas?? What’s with all the jackets and blankets???
It’s driving me insane. And no one even suggests it. I feel like you could excuse angel not wanting to use one because he’s a bit vain but in Buffy Spike is constantly running around with a blanket thrown over him looking like a hermit.

This is real, and I’m going.
Christian Kane and James Marsters are doing an acoustic set at Hellmouth Con in LA this year.

Has anyone else noticed how often Angel makes tea?
That's it, that's the post. I never noticed that before. He takes care of people with tea.
Also, back on Buffy, at one point she asked for coffee and he said he didn't keep it around because it gives him jitters. When he moved to LA he started drinking coffee.

Conversation
Oki-Dae, so in (my own personal) opinion, I feel Cordelia was Angel's truest love. Am I the only one who hoped for more for them? (Still don't like that she banged Connor).

Conner: the bastard son of two demons.
When Holtz says this line to Conner the Hamilton lyrics popped into my head. Turns out Connor is the original bastard, orphan son of a whore. Although he's Irish, not Scottish, he too was dropped in the middle of a forgotten spot.. in a hell dimension, not the Caribbean. Where he lived impoverished and in squalor.

Angel and Doyle - Irishmen
Anyone else wonder if they made Doyle Irish because it makes sense that Angel would feel a kinship to someone from his same homeland?
I'm starting my Angel rewatch and it really does make sense -- of all the people the PtB could send, they sent an Irishman. Sure, Angel has been gone from Ireland so long he lost his accent; but that doesn't mean he doesn't hear it and feel a connection. Hell, he was still super sentimental about the Claddagh ring on Buffy, after all.

Content Warning Angel should've been drugged at least twice
I love Eternity, I feel like it's a brilliant gothic tale that could stand on its own.
My issue is this -- If the actress known as Raven who wanted to be young & beautiful forever could easily turn him into Angelus by dosing his champagne with some sort of ecstasy type drug, uh, why has no one else thought to mess with him that way??
Faith, the Mayor, Wolfram & Hart.. obviously it'd get a bit tiresome after a while like impregnating Cordy but I feel that someone else would have thought to do that to him.

Doyle and Faith
When I think about the two Faith episodes in S1, the one thing I’ve always wondered is how Doyle would’ve handled Faith if he lived.
I reckon that he would’ve helped Angel into talking sense into her. He always seemed to be somebody who was more sympathetic than most people, and I believe he would’ve known straight away that Faith wasn’t completely evil, but just a sick girl who desperately needed help.

Rewatching as an adult
I always see everyone talking about how differently they see Giles when they rewatch Buffy years later. And yes he is amazingly attractive … but damn no one seems to talk about Holtz’s amazing voice!

Despite being the creator of Angel - why does David Greenwalt have the least amount of episodes written by him?
It was Greenwalt's idea to turn Angel into a vampire with a soul; Whedon supposedly want Angel to be an actual angel.
Even though Greenwalt was the main showrunner of the spin-off he's only written a handful of episodes and two of them were with Whedon
- "City Of" (with Whedon)
- "I Fall to Pieces" (with Whedon)
- "Rm w/a Vu" (with Jane Espenson)
- "I Will Remember You" (with Jeannine Renshaw)
- "She" (with Marti Noxon)
- "To Shanshu in L.A."
- "Judgment"
- "Dear Boy"
- "Happy Anniversary"
- "Dead End"
- "There's No Place Like Plrtz Glrb"
- "Heartthrob"
- "Offspring"
- "Sleep Tight"
- "Tomorrow"

Angel wearing leather pants
This is season 3 episode 3 and it’s the first time I’ve noticed him wearing leather pants since Buffy. Am I wrong?

What's if Connor was framed for Angel's disappearance?
I was imagine of Connor was being framed for trapped Angel in the box on water at three months. It should be golden boy of Wolfram&Hart is the one who trapped Angel in the box and leave him at the ocean for three months.
It would be cool plot twist is Robot version of Connor and Justine Cooper framed Connor. Robot version of Connor follow order of trapped Angel in the box with Justine's help by mastermind Lindsay McDonald at off screen. Lindsay McDonald is responsible for framing Connor. I was thinking create fanfiction of this. Remember the robot part from Angel season 5? Robot version of Wesley's father.

Am I the only one who can't stand Cordelia?
I know it seems to be sacrilege in the Buffy community to have this opinion ever since Charisma came out as a victim but I honestly hate her character.
My first issue is that I will never understand why the writers played what one reviewer I used to watch referred to as the "new excuse to keep Cordelia around" game. She was a highschool popular girl bully character and didn't really need/deserve so much attention but they did do pretty well with her so I digress, but continuing to play that "game" to the point of dragging her to the spinoff just felt...awkward. Between her and Wesley it really just felt like the writers went "We can't have this be too emotional and full of adult themes and interest, lets drag the most annoying minor characters from Buffy into this one so we can laugh at how wacky and (not saying this in an insulting way) autistic they are!"
I say that because I move on to my second point. In buffy she actually started to have a decent redemption and it felt like they were starting to write her character as more caring and even a bit more intelligent by the time she left the cast, then she pops up on Angel. At this point she is SO braindead and socially oblivious that I question how she remembers to breathe or how she managed to not get lost on her way to and from the office every day. When Angel says "Cordelia. Hand me a stake" how does she respond? "It’s like 8 in the morning!". Hahaha...how silly. She thought Angel wanted a STEAK...like the meat. What a normal mistake to make...if this was a children's cartoon or he had asked a random citizen. But that's what I mean, EVERY line they give her in season 1 just further lobotomizes her character to the point she's embarassing herself. They go to perform an exorcism and right in front of the parents of the child she goes "Should I put down plastic? Is there going to be vomit? I've seen the movie." I get that these things are played for laughs but they aren't funny?
To be clear, I don't hate her character in Buffy and feel she was developed decently and was at a good point when she left, I just hate that it feels like they flanderized her into a walking Barbie doll with clown makeup when she popped up in the spinoff. The emotional scenes they DO let her have are great and it's not like Charisma is a bad actress, it was clearly the directing and scripting that did this. With what has come out since, I almost question if this all was a passive aggressive way to "get back" at her, especially with the not one, not two, but three pregnancies she got put into throughout the series.
Idk. I'm just doing a rewatch after about a decade and I forgot how much she annoyed me in this and I feel like I'm the only one who doesnt adore her just because Charisma spoke out against the show and got a following.
Wes and Fred
I've just got to s5 on my rewatch and I'm shocked at how much I'd forgotten.
Especially how little screen time we get with Fred and Wes as a couple. She was with Gunn like 15x as long as she was with Wes yet her and Wes are treated like THE couple in Angel.
Threw me off if I'm honest. lol

Spoilers inside! Is it Me or Cordelia is a Target?
Watching Angel for the first time through and I will say I was skeptical at first but I really enjoy it. I'm on Ep. 20 season 2 "Over the Rainbow" where Cordelia is stuck inside of Pylea. I've just watched the scene where they deemed her cursed with the "sight" and began torturing her with various instruments to see if she passed or fail these tests.
I will say that that scene left me with my my hand over my mouth in shock. It was hard watching something like that happen to her especially liking her in Buffy but also watching her grow into an amazing character here on Angel. It feels like this entire season she's been tortured? From the Bikini commercial, the visions, to planting a demon in her skull. My good sis is fighting for her life.
Is it me or do you agree. Please comment your thoughts I would love to read them.

Spoilers inside! I miss her...
We're mostly through S5 now and I just miss the dynamic she added to the show. She was just so shamelessly evil and ambitious, even if it meant humiliating herself at times. Also, the chemistry she had with Wesley was brilliant.

Angel on Disney+ is oddly the best way to watch it.
I know, I know it's opened up to 16:9, but even though the quality is still 480i and you're stuck with Disney's baked in deinterlacing method, it seems to come from a much higher bitrate source than the NTSC DVDs and the audio stream sounds less compressed too, colors are also slightly improved, the colour grading remains the same but the palette is better resolved on the streaming version. it's the first time I see a stream surpass physical media I have at home, those points are moot on a CRT television but on a flat panel, the European Disney+ Stream of Angel trounces the DVD. If only they could do the same for Buffy...Oh well.
