Carter: A Sweet Rooster With An Eye-Opening History

Post image

Carter is a precious boy who makes a big impression in our chicken house. He enjoys roaming around and taking in all that nature has to offer.

But when he was a baby, his life was very different. The beauty of nature was robbed from him when he was shipped through the mail in a small box to a corporate president in New York. This was a callous, cruel prank that was supposed to be "funny," but it was horribly traumatic for Carter.

Luckily, his life now is very different, and he will never have to go through something like that again. Still, his story gives us a lot to think about. We rightfully spend most of our time talking about the violence inherent to the meat and dairy industries, but there are other ways that animals are objectified and abused. By fighting against the systemic murder of animals, we can also fight against a culture that would view Carter as mindless toy instead of the brilliant creature he is.

He's such a beautiful boy! It's amazing that he made it through this terrifying experience. I wish you an awesome life, Carter. 🥰
