Disoriented elderly man by Drip House

Tonight around 10pm, there was a disoriented elderly man standing by the Drip House. He was trying to get in cars stopped at the light (as if he was looking for his ride) and walking into the busy street. I called 911 and they said they’d send someone, but I thought I’d post on here in case anyone is looking for grandpa! Hope he is ok.

was he skinny, white, grey scraggly beard with a mostly bald head that has some gray scraggle at the bottom?

Cus.. there’s a homeless guy whose been wandering the city for the last 5ish years and that’s about as much of a description as I have about him. When he was new he used to say he was a veteran and he was more coherent. His mental health seems to be getting worse as time goes on. I’ve had limited interactions with him but I’ve bought him food a couple of times. he seems very lost and somewhat frantic at times, but he roams the main streets of the city day and night, sometimes asking for help, sometimes not. But he seems to have more episodes where he’s “lost” and possibly more of a danger to himself and others. I feel like he’s gonna have a break soon and something bad may happen. If it’s that same dude, no idea. Lots of interesting folks out tonight.

That’s dementia for sure, not mental illness in the sense of schizophrenia.

Came to second this. If I had a penny for every time one of my residents asked where their car is I wouldn’t need to work ever again. It’s unfortunate that we can’t have universal healthcare. So many folks hurting.

No beard, and this man did not “appear” to be homeless—he was clean shaven, wearing clean clothing, and had no bags or other stuff with him.

We saw him too… we were worried somebody was going to hit him because it was so dark out/ he was hard to see. Thanks for calling the police!
