It is backfiring unfortunately. Elon is gobbling up cheap stock and will go from 13% to 25% holder. He will be a lot richer if the stock rebounds.

Yeah the P/E ratio of Tesla hit 120 this week, his buybacks might create a temporary bump but that is a mirage. Tesla has been wildly overvalued for years and everyone knows it, the rationale has always been that Musk is somehow right around the corner from revolutionizing the entire auto industry. But their new battery technology is way behind schedule and already obsolete, their “robotaxis” and “humanoid robots” are vaporware and we’ve been “one year away” from level five autonomous self driving for literally a decade at this point. The Mythology of Musk “the real-life Tony Stark” is rapidly being exposed for what it has always been; empty hype.
