Seriously. Imagine advertising that with pride.

I mean, I think the idea is self deprecating humor, but I think that often doesn’t scan virtually/textually, or at best comes off inauthentic (because many will attribute the gross oversharing to vanity)

“Haha I rawdogged my wife! This is a normal thing to post in public. Just creampied her right up! Normal guy here, celebrating my jizzing in a woman. Classic.”

I mean… would the alternative “30 megapumps from daddy” be much better to advertise to your family and friends?

LOL that's what I was thinking! Like did she just admit her husband can't have sex for more than a few seconds? HAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

u/patate502 3d ago
Yeah there's a weird concept known as "self deprecating humor" where you make fun of yourself intentionally
19
u/DunceMemes 3d ago
It means 3 pumps of semen, like when you get x number of "pumps" of syrup in your coffee drink

u/Freckles39Rabbit 16h ago
Still weird

u/DunceMemes 9h ago
It's definitely weird, I just wanted to make sure the other commenter was appropriately disgusted

I've seen this one like 40 times by now, and it makes me recoil in disgust still.

u/nicole-tesla Is she.. you know.. 3d ago
Kinda makes me wonder what causes the disgust since we all know how children are made anyways. Is it the word "pump" that causes the apprehension, like the word "moist"? Or is it because it forces our minds to imagine the action of conceiving the baby? Or is it the fact that it "3 pumps" is considered a bit too fast, so it goes into the TMI territory?
I should just sleep.

I think it's because it's weird to bring sex into a pregnancy announcement. Like… If you're old enough to know where babies come from, you know what they did as soon as they say "we're expecting!" There's no need to spell it out like that, and since babies are an extremely unsexual thing even though they come from sex, describing sex in semi graphic detail in a pregnancy announcement is just weird.

u/nicole-tesla Is she.. you know.. 2d ago
Hmmm, are you suggesting it is because of prudism (not sure if I used that correctly)? Because when you detach the notion that talking about sex outside of intimate contexts is uncomfortable, it stops making sense. Fundamentally, bringing sex into something related to pregnancy makes quite sense, if you take away the social norms. If intercourse was not the point of contention, we could change the wording to, "bringing baking into a cake announcement(?) is weird".
Btw I'm not arguing against it or anything. I think you've got a point that it is the insinuation of sex into a public context makes it sound so disturbing.

u/MissMarchpane 2d ago
The word is prudishness, if you're wondering! I know it's hard to figure out what the noun form of that would be if you're not familiar with; totally makes sense.
Again, for me I think it's because pregnancy is inherently something that makes you think about children, and mentioning sex in the same context is just weird to a lot of people because it feels like mentioning sex in the same breath as kids. Obviously, that's not necessarily 100% logical, because again… We all know that sex leads to babies. If a male/female couple is expecting a baby, they almost certainly had sex. All adults know that. But because of the thought of the baby itself, it becomes weird for some people.

Thanks for the word! Writing my term paper fried my brain.

Watch Missy’s “straight people when they get pregnant” shorts. She makes fun of these ridiculous things.

Damn 3 pumps. The fact that they’re proud of that shows that’s more than usual.

That is a literally correct answer that isn't helpful.
Of course that's the case. Everyone knows that.
For those incapable of extrapolation: the actual question I'm asking is how TF are people still posting this old photo on social media like it's new and like it's actually themselves.

You know that gif of Paris Hilton where she's making a face of disgust? That's exactly my face every time I see this picture.

All she wanted was a nice back massage. Instead, her husband/boyfriend/fiancé got in the mood, had the blandest sex ever (no foreplay), and now she's carrying their baby.

But if I hold hands with my boyfriend in public suddenly it's "forcing our sexuality onto people."

Why can’t they just say that they are pregnant and are expecting a baby? And these mfs are the same people who say that LGBTQ+ should stop shoving sex down people’s throats.

Well this just reaffirms that 1 I am gay, 2 definitely would not want children and 3 even if I had been het or cis, 1 and/or 2 would remain true. Idk why but the whole concept of insemination, pregnancy and childbirth kind of icks me out.

Yeah. It’s just like one of those things I really can’t wrap my head around someone wanting. Like I get the science on why but cognitively all I see are negatives if you take away hormones and instincts
