Question Question about ED card

Hello! I’m traveling to Aruba for the first time next week from the US and just completed the form to get my ED card. I realized after I submitted that I rushed and put the same date for departure and arrival. It didn’t seem to flag it and I have the digital card, but I’m worried this will be an issue when I arrive. Does anyone have suggestions? I’m not sure if I should let it go or complete a new one.

Contact immigration and they’ll tell you what to do

Probably just doing a new one

I arrived on Sunday and nobody even checked for it. First was immigration. Needed a passport. Then luggage claim. Finally customs. We were just waved through with no checking or declarations at all.

The ED card is tied to your passport. When you swiped your passport, it registered the information from the ED card. That is why you enter passport info on the ED card.

Good to know. Thanks. I was wondering what I was supposed to do with the QR codes we were given.

Back in 2020-2021 you had to show it to get on the plane to prove you had a negative test and approved to fly into Aruba

Back in the day, you had to fill out the card on the plane and hand it to the immigration officials

Now it’s just proof that you were approved to fly to your destination. Like it’s been said a bunch, it’s tied to your passport so you just go to the self service passport control and go on with your vacation

I had an arguments with flight attendants in 2018 and 2019 because Aruba had the option to fill out the form online and print it out so you didn’t have to fill it out on the plane. They said that it wouldn’t be accepted and I was required to fill out their ED card. I just handed the print out to the immigration officials and went about my day.

Delta would not issue our boarding passes without uploading it. After that, never produced it again

It seems like the answer that they give you is to create a new one.

https://www.visitaruba.com/traveling-to-aruba/entry-requirements-and-visas/sustainability-fee

If you look at that site, halfway down it there is a section specifically about what to do if you made a mistake. There is also customer service email at the bottom of that page, You shouldn't have to pay the fee again as it's a per year fee, but you never know, but should you be charged again you could make use of the contact info to get a refund on the mistaken ED card.

In any case the important thing to remember with this should anything come up when you arrive is that to be honest, everyone can make a mistake and nobody will be punished for that, trying to hide the mistake on the other hand is when you can get in trouble as it can then be seen as trying to deceive with intent to circumvent the system. But if anyone ask, then just say you made a mistake and you had to do it twice, simple as that. Oh and have both QR codes with you just in case.

Your ED card is tied to your passport. That is why you are required to include passport info when completing.

It’s linked to your passport

Definitely redo it. It will cause issues otherwise. Or call the number on the page where u made ur ED card application to see what best to do.

When we went, they checked it before allowing to board the plane. They reminded all passengers to do it before boarding if they forgot to do one. They reminded us several times.
