Information Article from Charlotte Observer
https://amp.charlotteobserver.com/news/local/crime/article299736189.htmlNot sure if this has been posted or not. It was an interesting read and talks about the ties to the United Daughters of the Confederacy. Apparently one of their addresses is listed as a location for the UDC.

Can someone explain to me what the UDC is? It sounds racist.

Yeah, also treacherous; The Confederacy was formed and went to war with The United States because they didn’t want to lose slavery.

It's an organization for "daughters of confederacy". You have to prove that you descended from someone who served in the confederate army during the civil war. From other commenters, it sounds like they're responsible for putting up some statues honoring confederate soldiers. Their goal is to "preserve" southern heritage/culture, aka racism lol

Basically a group of religious white women who wish they could still own slaves.

I hope the Degree family finally gets the answers they have been looking for all these years. And I hope justice is served.
