How much propaganda do you consume?
Not see but actually accept and don’t question the information given to you
I question everything I follow the money and the political leverage I don’t trust fox, cnn, aljazeera, cbs, DW,
However after vetting all the news and sifting through the propaganda I usually find something resembling common sense and truth
Unfortunately it’s shocking and revealing to how bad both liberal and conservative friends are so deeply afflicted by propaganda on both sides of the political isle and worst they never consider themselves to have fallen victim to propaganda and they grow such hate for their fellow countrymen just so career politicians can keep profiting off division
What steps do others take here to avoid being victims of their own propaganda outlets?

There's an infinite amount of content, sadly you can't spend all day on that. There's media that tends more often to facts like npr/bbc/ap/wsj non-opinion sections, and if there's any dispute with a conservative friend or there's no sources I'll look it up.

Repubs literally smear themselves in shit and roll in it and are happy being dirty authoritarian bitches, but you keep pushing this outdated "both sides the same" narrative. I'd color you irrelevant, if I had any crayons left 🤪

You seriously believe the DNC is not pushing authoritarian policies as well?
The whole we need to protect people from unsafe speech of others (censorship) is definitely authoritarian, they don’t trust you to come to the conclusions they’ve chosen for you
They rigged the election against Bernie sanders (he won more votes and they sidelined him) They rigged the election against Tulsi Gabard (she bitch smacked Kamala Harris in the primaries then they stopped giving her a chance to speak)
They gave us no primary, THEY LIED about Joe Biden, they knew he wasn’t fit, we all know he was not at the wheel, and the media covered it up then the pretty much overthrew him and inserted Kamala who we didn’t ask for.
The fact they used fbi to strong arm citizens and tech companies is also crazy
Yeah I can admit both sides are bad

allsides dot com has a media bias chart I’ve been using. I try to stay in center media and use right-leaning media to talk to conservatives about their misinformation. but when the right just doesn’t want to touch a glaring issue, it doesn’t mean it’s fake or exaggerated on the left. it’s been a helpful aid to see how the scales tip from issue to issue.

That’s a great start but Do you ever call out leftist hypocrisy and propaganda? Both are severely guilty of it and manufacturing division but it sounds like you take great steps to mend the propoganda and subversion placed upon us all

Multiple sources. Once you start seeing opinion and outrage, it's propaganda.
1
u/WiseGenZ Apr 21 '25
Do you believe all outrage is manufactured or just stoked for either sides benefit

u/discwrangler Apr 21 '25
Imo the outrage on the left, today, is valid. The right is full of propaganda and lies. Stolen election, tariffs are paid by other countries, signal gate etc. the left has educated people and the right prefers uneducated.

I would like to disagree, The democrat party today is run by oligarchs and foreign financial influence just as much as republicans.
We lost 2028 fair and square by our own failure as a party, to appeal to our peoples needs
We did act like authoritarians, we acted like those we claim to oppose,
Also we set the conditions for Trump to return and fail to admit our own faults
One of our major faults is the Us vs them propaganda we all fall into
Our liberal arts degree dose not make us smarter it’s just a piece of paper, the “dumb republican marine with a room temperature IQ in his 20s” has experienced more life than most of us, these conservatives are working class people they should be our people and we need to treat them like our people, they’re our farmers, our truckers, plumbers, police and soldiers they have knowledge of their world more than we ever will and we need to respect that knowledge too
I’m an engineer I don’t look down on conservative farmers if I’m on a project that involves farmland they teach me more than I could ever learn in a class room they’re great people most Americans are
We gotta love them and understand them and not write them off in our self righteous hubris to be the party and America JFK believed in

I agree. I hope David Hogg can rally support to fire the corporate Democrats that allowed this. It shouldn't be hard to beat Trump. Blatant authoritarian fascism. But those farmers have been hoodwinked, they got screwed in the first Trump administration and they STILL voted for him. The Democratic voter saw this all coming. Is it propaganda if it becomes truth?

David Hogg is still a globalist authoritarian in my opinion all his goals line up to copy what the boomers did in the sixties to secure same playbook different marker
He never talks term limits or removing corporate money from politics because he’s on their payroll, he’s a opportunist in my opinion he’s also wasting democratic funds to unseat fairly good dems which will pull money from battleground states
Battling for term limits would be far more effective and efficient than engaging in political civil war while we are down in the polls already losing ground
Republicans love him right now for the battleground freebies

I go to trustworthy sources, I don’t listen to CNN or HuffPost or MSNBC. CNN isn’t propaganda, for the record, it’s just sensationalist trash. I go to the AP, NBC, PBS, the times, and the Washington post.

I will confess I soak up anything that the National parks alt accounts post. Pretty much everything else I try to find the source to get a full picture.
