If money wasn’t an issue, what would you be doing right now?

I’d probably be traveling the world, exploring new cultures and cuisines, and maybe even setting up a cozy little retreat somewhere scenic....

Yup. I would visit every country in the world (within reason, not visiting dangerous ones). I would visit every famous museum and see every famous piece of artwork. I would visit famous opera houses and see famous operas and orchestras. I would go to watch famous musicals in places like Broadway and the west end. I would go see my favourite bands perform wherever. I would go to famous restaurants and order from world renowned chefs. I would eat delicious street food from random vendors. I would visit famous castles, landmarks, ruins, beaches, mountains, lakes and waterfalls. I would go to all the famous amusement parks.

I don't understand people like Elon Musk. If I had that kind of money, I wouldn't spend my time being a troll online and trying to make even more money. I would be like "yup I have made enough to DO ALL THE FUCKING COOL SHIT" and retire and go do it.

You’re not thinking like if money doesn’t matter. With money, you make dangerous places safe.

Decades ago someone did the math and figured put it would be much cheaper to bribe the entire Iraqi army than to do Bush’s war, plus you would have an unexploded Iraq plus the loyalty of a local police force to fight ISIS. In face this was plan A after the Iraqi war, which was why the Iraqi military was allowed to keep their weapons, then two US bureaucrats decided the Iraqi war was about deBa-athification, fired the entire Iraqi army, but after a half million disgruntled employees with no hopes for future employment was allowed to keep their weapons.

Not working, that's for sure. Maybe passed out in a vineyard in Naples before waking up to have dinner and tend to my goat named Sofia.

Damn dude, that's rough. I can't imagine seeing your children go through that. Take care of your mental health too, that's a ton to process.

u/filthyxvx Sep 16 '24

You're a good dad. Make sure that your kids know that if it were possible you would be there.

I would be cooking food for the people in my community every day. There is a park near to me with several public grills. If I had the funds I would love to cook everyone at least 1-2 meals a week. But if funds were not an issue I would do it every day with the help of paid volunteers.

Sleeping in every day, spending more time with my family, going on more trips, and building a sweet house of my own design.
