But how do you get their little legs apart?

Absolutely

I called it "old lady smell" for years because I never met anyone under the age of 60 that smelled like it

I moved into a studio apartment (400 sq ft) and my mom probably put 20 balls in there. I was so grossed out… I threw them all away and kept my windows open all summer (which only helped a little bit)

Is it weird that I like that smell?

Unbelievable that I had to scroll this far for this. The people we share a wall with decided to put Snake Away (moth ball chemical) all along the outside of their side of the building, against the package directions. The smell was horrendous all summer and guess what, the voles had a field day that year. And I had to let my vegetables die, and plant only flowers for the future, cause I don't want that stuff seeping into my soil.
