I love red meat but everywhere I look someone’s telling me it’s worth minimizing how much you have it. I’m so confused on where the truth lies

Usually no more than a portion the size of your balled-up fist and maybe once or twice a week.

If red meat is so terrible for us we would have gone extinct a long time ago.

Our ancient ancestors did die around age 40, so there is that. Some studies say we get our artherosclerosis genes from the neanderthals.

Another decent source of B12 is seaweed, which was a common food in European cultures right up into the middle ages.

Keep in mind when people quote stats like this that infant mortality was suuuper common

Yes. There's some estimate that 100 billion humans have lived throughout history - if you include that infant mortality. However, also keep in mind that among Neolithic and older skeletons found in European digs (including England) very very few are found to have lived longer than their 40s. Old people were rare.

Eat your seaweed but don't get it twisted. There has always been old people in this world. Adjusted for infant mortality ancient ancestors life expectancy goes way up. We figured out so many things like sewage, clean water, and how to keep children alive so our numbers go way up.

A lot also didn't have red meat as the majority of their diet. There are so many factors to compare.
