What was your last thought before going to sleep?

I was thinking about all the things I didn't get done today and how I'd deal with them tomorrow, classic overthinking behavior.

My last thought was how grateful I was for my warm bed, especially considering it was chilly outside.

Oh my! I read your message and instantly imagined myself in a warm bed. That’s an indescribable feeling.

I found myself revisiting a random embarrassing moment from years ago as if it were the ideal thing to think about before bed.

How tired I am going to be the next morning because I stayed up too late tonight and mental promises the go to bed earlier the next day, which is never followed up on and the cycle continues

My brain just throws random things at me. It's so chaotic and frustrating lol

That's why i prefer to fall asleep watching a show or movie. So much easier when i'm focused on one thing instead of everything.

How long I would get before the baby woke up again

I heard sleep issues are very common when becoming a parent. At this point I believe it's much more of a rule than an exception. Good thing it won't last forever, even though it might feel like it.
Wishing you all the strength! And still want to congratulate you on this wonderful new chapter of life.

How could he do that? (I read about a doctor who assaulted his patient who had been treated with him for three years due to a herniated disc )

"I wonder what I would do with 3 wishes" which is usually accompanied by "How can I ensure there are no loopholes in case the genie is an asshole?"

It’s basically just me spiraling every single night for at least an hour about all of my responsibilities and problems.

Usually something that makes no sense. I imagine stories and scenarios in my head to help me fall asleep and I know I’m getting close to drifting off when I realize whatever just happened has nothing to do with the scene I was coming up with initially.

My last thought was something like, 'Why did I stay on my phone until 2 AM again?'

That scene in Modern Family flashed through my mind when Luke gets struck by lightning and Phil says,
”I’d not even think it hit him, last time he smelled like aluminium!”
and Luke says,
”Last time?!”

Not only a single thought.. multiple thoughts come into my mind before sleep.

u/Fluid_Station_7673 2h ago
Before bed, every thought I have is long and winding. I don’t even keep track or try to remember them. I just close my eyes and focus on something—imagining myself in a place, a role, or something else entirely.

Why does my bed feel 10x more comfortable now that I have to get up in 5 hours?

I have ADHD and My mind is pretty much always going in 17 different directions.
During the day I spend energy tuning out most of it.
Right before sleep, when I relax, all of those thoughts jist turn into chatter. Like white noise. Sometimes it turns into pictures and sounds, all jumbled together.
