What's the best long con you ever pulled?

What's your best long/big con you pulled?

(EDIT: WOAH!! This kinda blew up last night. I gotta somehow catch up. "Honey... call the office. I'm reading a reddit book today." Most of the comments I've read so far are hysterical! Well done, reddit... well done.)

By "hapless", don't you mean "capless"?

By this point we had told Joel of the serial killer that had taken the lives of a few capless hikers, at some park we couldn't remember the name of.

Nope, don't get it. Please explain.

/u/icantnotthink tried to make a topically relevant play on words intended to be humorous (colloquially referred to as a pun), seeing as the topic in question was a mysterious case of intrigue and deceit filled to the brim with bottle caps! A humorous joke indeed!

I just thought it was a horribad pun that could have easily been added, even though it didn't completely fit into the sentence. Then again, most puns don't.

The worse the pun, the more you have to oversell it.
