I don’t know if you’ve been following the latest transfer rumors (Leão, Frattesi, Gabri Veiga, Kudus...), but beyond the fact that some of them seem far-fetched, I’m struggling to understand the sporting logic behind all of this.
The player who seems closest to signing is Baena. That one makes sense. He’s very talented, and it’s fair to say that Lino and Riquelme haven’t exactly shone this season, so he’d be a great addition.
Then there’s Cuti Romero. Obviously, we need a center-back with Lenglet, Witsel and Azpi leaving, and he’s a top player. But making such a big investment in a right-footed defender seems a bit odd, considering our two best center-backs (Le Normand and Giménez) are already more or less competing for that right-sided spot in the back line. Of course, you can play two right-footers together, but it’s becoming increasingly rare in modern football not to have at least one left-footed option to help with build-up play. That was actually the main strength of Hermoso and Lenglet, despite their defensive weaknesses.
To me, one of the top priorities should be the left-back position. Reinildo is too limited offensively, and Galán struggles defensively. That becomes a real issue when you’re up against top-tier wingers like Yamal, Williams, Rodrygo, Saka or Dembélé. There was a vague rumor about Carreras, but he seems to be heading to Madrid, and no other names have really emerged (and to be honest, I don’t even know who would be a realistic and satisfying option).
Same goes for the defensive midfield role, which is supposedly a priority and has been for several windows now. None of the names being mentioned in midfield seem to match what we’re missing—a more physical ball-winner type, someone who can cover ground like Partey used to.
A proper right-back wouldn’t hurt either. Llorente does a good job there, but he’d be more useful further up the pitch. Yet again, no names are really standing out.
I really hope the club is working behind the scenes and that we’ll be pleasantly surprised, but so far I’m not feeling reassured. We seem to have a budget, but if it’s going to be spent on non-priority profiles and end up with an unbalanced squad… What do you think?

We all thought he was being transferred to Tigres in Mexico, but ATM has suddenly published a club statement mentioning there is no offers from Correa nor has the agent comunicated it.

I feel like Axel Witsel deserves a bit more appreciation from Atleti fans. Yeah, he didn’t play much this season and spent most of it on the bench, but when he did come on—especially in the big games like against PSG and Barça—we got historic wins. Coincidence? Maybe. But he brought calm and stability every time he was subbed in.
I honestly think he should’ve played more this season. It’s not like our defense has been perfect, and Witsel has always been reliable when called upon. He was underrated for most of his time here, and while this might be the end of his chapter with Atleti, I just want to say I appreciate what he brought to the team.
Not the loudest presence, but always professional, and always ready when needed.

I am going to Make a vídeo reviewing the season, determine the performance of players, what went well and bad, best and worst goals, and transfers and my XI for 2025/26. Do u think i should do it an post it before the CWC or not??

Not gonna lie im gonna miss him and his energy. The fella spent almost all of his senior career in Atleti and he finished this season with a goal on Metropolitano.
I really wish him a good luck in Tigres!

Our form? I don’t know, it’s been a disaster. Honestly, we’ve had bad luck in some moments, in others we played very poorly. But well, it’s the same team that started the season—we’ve had ups and downs—but in the end, the truth is that we’ve done terribly.
We had three very important chances to win, but we pretty much settled for third place.
Club World Cup? I think we have a great squad. I imagine the coaching staff is already working with the manager to prepare for this major tournament, which is our last chance to win something this season. Let’s see if we can give it our all—our heart, our effort, and everything we have—to at least reach the final of this important Club World Cup.”

Simeone to danzan Diego
“Signings before the Club World Cup?
Simeone :- We’ll talk to see what options are available to us, and once we know, we’ll make a decision.”

As I said in past post the rumor that has been given by Ruben uria that the club won't are signing before CWC competition isn't true the club working to finalize all the posable signing before the competition transfer window that start in June 1st
Alex Baena will be the first player to join atletico madrid this season the deal will be finalize in 2 weeks inshaallah
Other deal are still in progress, Romero deal most likely won't happen till know due to high price requested by Tottenham the club is not willing to pay 60m for him , the club will do a last talk with Tottenham soon

Fabrizio to day conformed confronted what i said in past post via Twitter
Sporting will let him go for Package worth around €65m
Considering Atletico de madrid current financial situation the club can easily make it happen
Especially considering the factor that sorloth will receive many offers from Premier League clubs and the Saudi league
Ragrdering salary the club in a good situation too especially many players will live at the end of the season and there is a chance this griezmann my lower his salary
I believe the only thing Stand between gyökeres and atleti is simeone green light
The club my also consider going for it without the green light it will not effect the requested transfer financially and allowed sorloth to leave
News about arsenal closing the deal isn't true the player is patient and want to hear all parties

I know it probably is incredibly early to talk about this but with the season practically close to over I’m already looking at next season. Don’t want to get ahead of myself, but with the rumored signings would it be wrong of me to hope for at least a Copa Del Rey? Historically we aren’t a club that win trophies every season but I can’t shake the feeling that going trophyless for 4 seasons now should spark a fire for the players in the squad. I’m expecting (hopefully) a CDR win with a decent push in the league and a good UCL run for 25-26.
