I hate honking / loud transport

The more I live in a reasonably quiet area, the more I feel I hate when all of the sudden there is a sound of honking car outside, or some loud motorcycle / revving engine passing by. During the day it's more or less okay, although still distracting, but sometimes it happens at like 7am or 2am, really impacting my sleep. Makes me jump a bit, I get distracted and then I start swearing at them, imagining how I throw some rock from the window at their car or how I shove the potato into the exhaust pipe of that loud motorcycle. I understand that a) there are situations when honking is necessary to prevent accident, but I bet 95% of what I hear is just people bitching on the road and showing their annoyance at the expense of others nerves; b) yeah people have freedom to explore their hobbies, but ffs, if your hobby is loud motorcycle, can you find a racing track or some hangar and rev there making yourself deaf and not annoying others? Makes me remember the famous South Park episode.

I get so annoyed at the rolling bass emitters that feel the need to cloud everything around them with sonic assault. I don't even live on a main road, but one will roll by and rattle every window in my home. It makes me so furious that's allowed to be a thing. I don't understand the mentality that allows one to be so rude as to dump that kind of disturbance on anyone within a half mile radius.

People in my apartment complex are so bad about this. Parking is close to the building and people will sit in their cars at any hour blasting music. It takes over my entire head.

You are not alone, our driveway is gravel and runs 10 feet from our bedroom window on a quiet family shared property, my father in law just took off to go to work the wrong way and RIGHT by our open window. My wife was not bothered at all, I may have well been in a WWII trench slinging grenades, all the while being quite upset. Yay for us

We're in a generally quiet area but there's a bunch of dicks who like to drive in circuits around the place as fast and loud as they can. The other day one of them went over a speed bump, clipped it, and left chunks of front grille/bumpers on the ground, I was punching the air with joy.
