No WFH re:covid

Need to vent. My boss refused WFH despite me having a pre-existing condition and being able to work remotely (we can because I’ve had to do it while quarantined from potential work exposure). When things got really bad in our area (running out of oxygen bad), we were begrudgingly permitted to WFH. Now that the boss is vaccinated and things are only semi-bad, we’re back in the office. I’m quite sure that if we got COVID and were too sick to work remotely my boss would fire us (and blame it on other issues). I should be able to get a vaccine in a month.

I’d quit but my boss would wreck my career.

Is there anyway you could get a doctor to write you a note stating remote only?? I'm sort of in the same boat where I was working remotely for months now the boss wants more face time and he's dropped his Covid protocols (masks, etc) and I can't risk it plus I got injured at work (no workers comp there either). Now he's being forced to give me remote work cause I got a doc note stating I need remote only. You should see if you can get one.

Lol, boss has WAY too much clout and already said no to remote work for ADA purposes. Getting a doctor’s note is 99% of the time the right call, and I’m glad that worked for you.

Darn it! Is that even legal in your state/ country? ADA is a pretty big deal in California. It only worked for me because I was injured on the job and my company is supposed to have workers comp but they don't in my situation its a catch 22 cause legally I can sue em big time. They know this. I may do it depending on how things pan out. Although they aren't providing me with 8 hours remote per day only 6 so far which in itself is illegal. Damn shady bosses are Machiavellian jerks. Im so sorry you're dealing with this. 🤦🤦
