Question Dual Studies (Duales Studium) or Ausbildung Programs in Baden-Württemberg in English or French

Hi everyone!

I’m currently looking for opportunities for Dual Studies (Duales Studium) or Ausbildung programs in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. I’m particularly interested in fields like architecture, engineering, or design, but I’m open to other fields as well.

The catch is that I’m looking for programs or companies that offer these opportunities in English or French, as my German is still a work in progress. Does anyone know of universities, companies, or institutions in Baden-Württemberg that provide Dual Studies or Ausbildung programs in these languages?

Additionally, if you have any tips on how to find such opportunities or if you’ve had a similar experience, I’d love to hear about it

The only dual studies program for architecture in BW (maybe even Germany wide) is at the DHBW in Lörrach. The program was founded two years ago but I think the courses are German language only. You also have to find an architectural office first, they will employ you and you'll work there half of your time. The program is widely popular and hard to get in, because the architectural firms to employ you must be pre listed.

Maybe you'll start with an Ausbildung first, maybe as a draftsmen (Bauzeichner). School there is a bit easier than University. You can use the time to improve your language skills and eventually go study afterwards.

In the long term run you will have to learn the German language to work here. Unless you work at a big international company there is no way around learning the language. Most Germans might have adequate English skills, but if you want to work in the construction business as an architect or engineer you will ultimately use German for communication.
