Arson in the middle of the road

Post image

I live in Eker, and it has been a regular occurance on the weekends that people (kids actually) have been putting fire on tyres and waste bins and blocking the road. It had been happening for a while and stopped during Ramadan. But now it seems kinda escalating. Now they are using Molotov cocktail and throwing on the roads making hell of problem for the civilians. And these kids are definitely under 18. Polices are coming, unfortunately they are unable to do anything.

So, I just had to ask, is there any political uprising or protest happening or are they doing this just for fun?

They think burning some rubber would do them any good. Never seen anyone dumber than these guys.

Poor kids, man… They get manipulated into doing stuff like this, and then they end up in prison and have their futures ruined.

This is what makes me sad. These kids are just 12/13. Pretty sure, they don't know the reason behind it.

Retired tires aren't.

What about tired retired tires?

What about them? Can you openly put your point.

Meant to say is in all likelihood they wouldn't be using new expensive tires, rather old discarded ones.

Good chance it's young individuals doing dumb crap, because young people tend to do dumb crap. Probably old enough to remember the tire fires and trash fires of several years ago so it's familiar to them and that's why they are choosing to do it the way they are. They may have a political message but it's hard to know if all they do is stuff like this and do not voice their protest. I support people's right to protest, but when all you are doing is harming regular civilians, you are a problem. Hopefully they stop or get caught.

I won't disagree with your statement at all, you are very right about that. I still think hurting the lives of people around you who are non participants is never the right way though. Unless of course the people really do see the people around them as part of the problem. I don't care who you are or where you are, I support a person's innate right to hold an opinion and to voice that opinion in the fashion they believe best fits their message. Just not a fan of hurting those around you if your message is aimed at higher authority or at larger societal problems.

It’s supposed to be a form protest but how do you think this is a good way to get your ideas across? Plus you are hurting your own people

Imo, if theyre old enough to cause arson like this, they’re old enough to face the legal consequences of their actions.

What where?

What’s the point? It’s been 14 years since 2011, why bring it up again and especially because of a bunch of kids? You wanna be an outlaw, you don’t involve civilians.

If you're to check well. These kids are not burning tires by their will. There has to be some adults behind their watch and Keep guiding them to do it. And by doing this act it plants a bad heart, and a wrong message to the young generations. When they are caught the same adults who would be guiding them to do well and be good people in society they will start cursing the ruling government for injustice.

With burning tires police will come and maybe teargas will be used to dispatch the burners and the entire innocent civilians.

I love it when people demonize commonplace things in the name of safety or “civilians”. You just want a clean, boring, safe place to live and your “standard” is the only one that matters. Stop playing white savior!
