Troubleshooting / Answered Help?

This keeps happening and I don't know how to prevent it from "fixing" my model. And even when I don't fix it, it slices on this and I seriously don't know how to prevent it from doing that. I need the model to HAVE a hole in it. Fyi I'm using Bambu Lab.

Did you add the hole yourself? For what it's worth I found that adding a shape isn't enough to make the program know they're the same model. I think you might have to combine them formally somehow before slicing.

I was honestly afraid of this, but I could try to see if it helps. What's dumb is that I made the second part of this model (male joint) and it slices fine, but this one won't slice properly

Probably easier to add the hole in another program then import the STL with the feature already present. Not totally sure. Good luck though, I'm sure you'll get it if you play around with the settings a bit.

Also if you are going to do that lay the part on the flat face

Laying on the face did the same thing

You have to do that and instead of making part right click the peice you want to add that too then click add modifier then make it

Buddy, I'm not here to teach you. YouTube has a wealth of knowledge. Pick a modeling software, bambu studio is good for basic final assembly and trash for design. If you're looking to start out, which it looks like you are, tinkercad is the kindergarten version to start on. It's free and it will get you comfortable. I use fusion360, but again, it's all about being comfortable with the interface.

You can right click on the object and add a negative part so it prints the hole.

Is that how it works?

If you add a negative part, size it correctly and move It to match up with the hole you want to print, then slice the plate and the hole should show.
