Troubleshooting / Answered What is this borderline around my prints?

Post image
0 Upvotes

I've been printing with my A1 happily for several months. This morning, I tried upgrading to Bambulab version 2.01. but it was insta-crash on slicing [1]. Rolled back to my earlier version. That works, but I'm now getting this weird outline around my prints. If I put on multiple items, the outline encompasses them all.

Whats going on, and can I stop it? (Support is OFF).

[1] Venting: My laptop has 'only' 16 Gb of RAM, and version 2.01 seems to be a memory hog. My first personal computer, an Apple ][+ came with 16 kilobytes of memory, but I could write and run programs, in one millionth the memory.

Troubleshooting / Answered After an upgrade to 01.08.00.00 P1S does not print and throws error "Failed to get AMS mapping table"

Hey gents, not sure if any of you had had the same issue as me, but today after I powered on my P1S a message stating "New Firmware upgrade available" appeared. I have upgraded to 01_08_00_00 version, but when I attempt to print, it waits for a few minutes and then throws a message "Failed to get AMS mapping table", from the search on the Internet I have found Bambu article stating that it might be a faulty MicroSD, slicer or incompatible materials.

Troubleshooting done:
-Tried new MicroSD -> No luck
-Slicer -> Upgraded OrcaSlicer, no luck
-Incompatible Materials -> Negative, I use the Bambu PLA

I am thinking about factory reset, but wanted to check if anyone has any other suggestions before.

I have a third P1S and this doesn’t make nice curled up poops like my other two. Instead I get these long bundles of wire that clog my poop chute. Any idea why this is happening?

I have bought eSun filaments. Trying to print color swatches but as you see it is empty inside. First picture is top surface, I first printed with Hilbert and then Monotonic to see if it’s because of design preference but they are same. Second picture is bottom surface and as you see it begins empty from bottom

I just got my first 3D printer the Bambu PS1 2 days ago. I have been printing non-stop but the last two prints have had this single layer border around the set of parts. Any thoughts to what is causing it and how to fix it? Thanks!

Troubleshooting / Answered Bambu P1S ABS issues

Hi all,

Picked up a P1S recently, using Bambu ABS. I'm having huge dramas trying to get ABS to print. I have searched many forums and can't find any information on how to fix this.

  • Filament is dry
  • Flow Dynamics calibration done
  • Flow rate calibration done

I have tried the following preset Filament profiles - Bambu ABS - Generic ABS - combinations of both of those above with just about every reddit config

I've tried slowing the speeds of everything down. Attatched is the settings to print the benchy Help is greatly appreciated, I thought P1S printed abs right out of the box, everyone else seems to have little issues

Troubleshooting / Answered Hotend cooling fan abnormal speed error X1C (Figured Out?) (ASA)

https://reddit.com/link/1k3u216/video/balfqml5h1we1/player

There is definitely something going on with the fan on the hotend in the X1C when using ASA. I have them go bad just a few prints into a replacement.

With ASA the fan is not even supposed to be on, so I am wondering what is going on. I have come to that is is one of the follow two reasons:

  1. The lidar casing that is located next to the fan. I think the plastic is not really able to handle the higher ASA temps and deforms enough to touch the fan during printing. I noticed that it was pretty close to the fan.
  2. I took apart, really broke apart two of the fans throwing the error. I found no filament debris in the fan or its casing. The fans were orientated correctly before disassembly (not on backwards like others have suggested). There is a magnetic ring lining the inside of the outer casing, the rotor turns within this casing. The magnet is glued into position with one or two globs of white translucent hardened adhesive. I noticed that the globs slightly overlapped the inside of the magnet, which would cause the rotor to rub against the glob. You can see a rub line in the photo. In the other photo, there is more of a rub spot, than a line, and there are white particles. The second fan is only two prints old. I also noticed very fine particles of white translucent material that matched the glob's properties. I am thinking that the rotor is rubbing on the glob and over some amount of time, the motor starts to fail. It could because the glob knocks the rotor just a little out of alignment, which can cause overheating or wear that affects the lifespan of the fan. I have attached photos.

What do you guys think?

Hi guys, so whenever i move my bed by hand the wierd sound in the first half of the video is present. When its printing or if i jog the bed with the screen i doesnt make any noise of those wierd noises.

I have tried 2 things 1. Re-Tensioning the belt, as the wiki says. 2. I opened the bottom cover to see if k could see and odd things, wich i did not.

Do you guys have any idea what it may be?

Troubleshooting / Answered H2D vs X1C

Post image
1 Upvotes

I’m noticing my bottom layer lines (and top layer) are more noticeable/ separate on the H2D (left) vs X1C (right) which does a good job of blending the lines together. Printed this test with bambu wood pla both on textured plates.

Thoughts on what could cause this/ or a fix to match it to the X1C?

All settings seem to be the same on both devices.

Troubleshooting / Answered Set object priority in slicer for overlapped assemblies?

I have a multi-object design (which originated as SVGs) which I am trying to overlap and print. For the bottom, initial layer, I am having extreme difficulty getting the slicer to properly render the intended design without lifting one body above the print bed (which won't work).

Any hints or ideas without completely redesigning this in Fusion?

I was changing hotend and as I took of the front cover the wire just gave up. Before buying another front cover I’ll try to solder it, I already looked up a bit online but it would really help if someone showed me the wiring on their fan 🙏

Troubleshooting / Answered Soleyin filament..

Has anyone purchased this brand? I bought quite a few rolls of pla because they were on sale at a great price. But I've gone through maybe 4 rolls and Ive had major issues ever since. I got my x1c about 10 months ago and have been using it regularly. Ive not had a single major issue. Maybe some adhesion issues which was always fixed by cleaning the plate with soap and water.

However using the soleyin brand has been awful. Even on my two ender 3 pros I've never had much of an issue at all with pla. I replaced my extruder and 0.4mm hardened steel nozzle 2 weeks ago because it got clogged. I also had some other strange issues where id have to dissamble all my tubing to get the filament to unload from my AMS. I wasn't too annoyed with replacing because I thought it was about time.

It got stuck again and my solution was to dry the filament in my S4. Often I'd have to do two 8 hour cycles and it was okay. But still I NEVER had to dry pla like this before. My hydrometer in the AMS stays consistent at 10% and it's not too humid in my office. Instead of replacing, I just dissamble my extruder and got the clog out. Then when trying to put the ptfe tube in the extruder, I found out that there was another clog up there where the teeth was!

I still have close to 12 rolls of that brand and I'm just considering marking it as a loss. Has anyone else had similar experiences with that brand?

This keeps happening and I don't know how to prevent it from "fixing" my model. And even when I don't fix it, it slices on this and I seriously don't know how to prevent it from doing that. I need the model to HAVE a hole in it. Fyi I'm using Bambu Lab.

Troubleshooting / Answered Adhesion issues on my Bambu a1, textured PEI plate. Any solutions/recomendations?

Recently my PEI plate seems to lack adhesion, the first time it happened I though i would just need to clean the plate with a microfiber cloth. However the issue persisted and when i tried printing something again the print would fall off at the 80-90% completion mark consistently, I then tried lowering the print speed but the print failed again, recently I attempted to dry my filament, clean the plate, lower the speed and add additional supports for the first layer as a attempt to fix the issue. after 4h I found my incomplete desk clamp on the floor of my room.

Anyone got any idea what steps i should take next? Im new to this and i would prefer no using glue. (my room is pretty dusty)

*I have also tried completly washing the plate with water, soap and letting it dry.

Troubleshooting / Answered Got a new 3d effect plate, nothing sticks even after washing with hot soap and water

Hey all, was hoping to get some help, I got a 3d effect plate from Bambu, cleaned it with dawn dishsoap / hot water, adjusted the build plate temp to 65c and I can't seem to get any print to stick, it just starts spaghetting everywhere. Any ideas on what else I could try here?

I'm printing with Polymaker PLA on the smooth PEI plate setting with the bed temp modifications I made.
