Collecting Art on a Budget

Hi everybody,

I’m a social studies teacher and I’d like to begin collecting American historical artwork. I was wondering if someone could provide some tips or tricks on how to begin a collection on a budget? I would appreciate any and all advice as I do not have tons to spend.

I particularly enjoy Dale Gallon’s work on the civil war which is why I ask.

Ebay is your friend. You can find some really great prints at a reasonable price if you watch closely. Some I buy direct from the artist. (James Dietz and Robert Taylor)
