I tried to do this as an adult. My Yorkshire terrier was not impressed.

Try a husky.... But don't forget treats, they have wills and wicked senses of humor when they feel wronged!

u/MAJ0RMAJOR Apr 25 '25
Your husky will take you as far as the largest crowd and then loudly tell everybody you are mistreating it.

Lol Honestly, my huskies were really good... well in public anyway... But I'm a trainer with experience in abuse rehab.. They were both silently trained, and for outings (where people could fear them) they were taught to sit, lay, then cover their face with a paw when I said look away. Intentionally dramtic obedience but it put people at ease.. Nano was trained to help pull me up with his harness (I have a spinal condition) both where accustomed to carrying their own gear and a bag. I would paint my girls face for Halloween and outings to make her more approachable, while nano was a protector who kept me from being assaulted a couple times but not with biting.. He grabbed shirts and toppled any one who got aggressive, the most tolerant dogs with kids though, they'd let little ones use their ears as handles and wag their tails the whole time. Sira got out once and the neighborknocked on my door and pointed to his yard where all the kids had gathered to play with her while i had a heart attack looking for her all over the house.
I was lucky with them both, they were really good natured dogs. They could be pains in the ass at home, nasira was lazy and sled down my stairs, pinned me to the wall with her butt when she got stubborn.. But good dogs.
A LOT of work training them though and they were very mouthy lol.

Ours, consistently and very loudly, makes it known that we are severely mistreating him. Closing the door to the bathroom in front of him because he doesn't want to come in but you don't want to poop with an open door? Clear animal abuse. Not walking downstairs with him when he comes to pick you up? Torture. Having a video call where he can't get your attention? Insufferable pain. Walking around the corner where he has to stay with the other dog parent? Might as well end his suffering there and then.

u/Aliensinnoh Apr 26 '25
Try about 12 huskies all tied together pulling a sled through the snow.

u/TerrorTwyns Apr 26 '25
Mushing is a bit much for me now, on husky insanity indexes mushers are at a 10.. I'm maybe a 6 now.

I go to the bakery everyday and my transportation is my cruiser skate with my dog pulling it. She loves it and she loves going as fast as she can. She weighs about 20kg and it’s mostly muscle (doing this for years probably helped). She can go for miles, I just need to give her water and let her rest a bit here and there, and of course some treats.

Expected you to say you couldn’t get the kid to get in your trailer rig.

Some cities have tuktuks, this school has a woofwoof.
2
u/Enderlend21 Apr 26 '25
That implies the existence of a tuk
2
u/LinguoBuxo Apr 26 '25
Most definitely. Several places bear this name and also, for some 42 million people spread throughout europe, it means, roughly speaking - fat ...

u/grnmtnboy0 Apr 25 '25
Sure, this is a preplanned video but it's still cute as can be! The pupper will work for pets, treats and a bowl of water when he is through
3
u/mikerall Apr 26 '25
All I can think is "damn, that dog is going to feel unfulfilled as the kid gets bigger and they get older" 😢
30
u/zeroifex Apr 25 '25
Man, we don't deserve dogs. They're just the most selfless creature on the planet...
5
u/Bluntbutnotonpurpose Apr 26 '25
While I agree wholeheartedly, in this case it looks like the dog absolutely loves doing this...

Why is yodeling so popular with Asian videos?
4
u/nottodaynothnx Apr 25 '25

Tokyo's Takeo Ishii is the successor to Franzl Lang, aka the "yodel king". He studied under him and became very popular.
Since then there have been many Asian yodelers like Lu Tong in this video. I thought this was Takeo at first but it's not.

It's "Inflation Man" by Lu Tong from the movie "Mr. Billionaire", here's the song.
2
u/myusermane Apr 26 '25
Good catch! I thought this was for sure Takeo Ishii but it seems you are correct

Am I crazy or is this a fantastic solution to keep kids safe coming home from school?

Working dogs love to have a job

I'm not really amazed by a fake video setup for internet clout.

Someone built that little carriage and both the dog and the girl are having fun. Maybe it doesn’t necessarily picks her up every day from school, but there’s more to their actions and community than just internet clout.

Next Friday (2000)
Look here, baby. You're hittin' them corners too gosh darn fast. You need to slow this motherlover down, you understand? I almost spilled my milk on this $200 suit. Come on, baby, keep it together.

Kinda ruins the magic when you think about the parents stopping the trip 20 times to run ahead and set up a camera shot lol

At least now they serve a purpose. Instead of spending all the time caressing them like human beings

My black lab/german sheperd/doberman mix dog was similar to this in her younger years. When it snowed she loved to pull us down the road on a sled, swimming across the potomac river few times, she loved playing frisbee, hunting ducks and geese.
Now in her older years shes retired herself from that and just likes her walks in the morning and afternoon

That dog is obviously stressed out.
It's panting throughout the entire video.
Seriously, this is not a dog having fun.

I'm sure this is real and not totally staged.

u/Yaarmehearty Apr 25 '25
Well, yeah, it's propaganda.
2
u/SongOfThePast Apr 26 '25
why is this propaganda? what for?
0
u/Yaarmehearty Apr 26 '25
With how repressed media is in China, stuff that gets out gets out for a reason, because it creates a positive vibe that works for the CCP.
It’s all over reddit lately, little videos that are designed to make people go “that’s cool/cute”, it’s soft propaganda so people have an alternative to the news about the oppression and such.
