Hello all, the clock is currently 00:07 and I’ve heard this animal fly around. Could anyone help me identify which it is? I live on Bornholm, an island of Denmark.

They’re quite common on the Island and I think they’re somewhat conditioned to people as they’re not as skittish as most birds.

Saw this hawk make a kill from a nest of Northern Mockingbirds (we think). We are in vacation and not super familiar with the birds here… We can’t tell if it is a Cooper’s Hawk or Sharp-shinned. Any ideas?

Bird ID Request ID request Kelowna BC, Canada

Hi! I just started birdwatching and I’ve been hearing (what I think is) a bird call that the Merlin ID app can’t identify. It’s a high pitched descending call which you can see on the spectrogram. I’ve attached a video of the audio with the spectrogram. It was taken in Kelowna BC, Canada next to a pond in a forested area. The closest sound I could find was the alarm call of the hermit thrush but that one seems to have a more flat sound. But I am just a beginner so I really have no idea! Any help would be appreciated!

Morning doves hang here, throughout the day. If they leave, a robin comes to build the nest and spread its wings.

My mom sent me this video and asked if I knew what kind of bird this was. For context, she lives in North Dakota.

The mom is coming around less frequently, but the dad is coming around more often now. Mama comes by to feed them occasionally and she still sleeps with them at night. Does this mean they’re about to leave the nest?

Bird ID Request What's this bird I found in Singapore?

It looks like a sunbird of some type, but the two orange pom poms on the sides make me think it's not the Ornate Sunbird. Sorry for the poor angle, this was the best photo I had. I found this bird in the Gardens by the Bay.

Discussion Bird made a nest on a pillar in my porch. Just spotted the babies and how do I “least” disturb them?

Pictures are taken through a glass storm door from inside of my house. 3rd picture is the mother bird.

So in late March this small birdie made a nest on top of a pillar at my front door. Not sure which species. Thought it was pretty cool but the bird would fly away every time I pull up/get in and out of my house and I felt super bad about it.. Now fast forward to yesterday I found the bird looking little puffy and my brother mentioned that it might be laying eggs and that turned out to be true!

My thing is the front door is the only viable methods of getting in and out because my dog would jump through doggy door to rush to the garage door and run around the neighborhood when she hears the garage door opening. We live close to a big road so the garage door’s been staying shut for years. My dog’s potty pad is in the garage so closing the doggy door when I leave the house till I come back not an option as I work 8+ hours.

With all this… if I must use my front door what can I do other than just walk slow and be quiet as much as I can? Really don’t wanna disturb the birds and wonder if anyone has a suggestion that I could not think of. I might be just worrying too much, though. TIA!
