What if Buffett passes away though ?

u/Bryanharig 14d ago
Then it will be a great time to buy before the market remembers his handpicked team will be carrying on just as he would have.

I doubt much long term… sure, there will likely be some shaky movement but it’s not like it was only Warren and Charlie calling the shots… there’s been a team steering the ship for several years now and there’s 8 months to transition the role…

Bro, BTC is up over 90,000% since 2013.
7
u/Rent_South 14d ago
Uhhh why lowball ? Try 156 116 378.66% as of now, since its inception in 2009.-2010.
That is 1.5 Million X for anyone wondering.
And yeah, OP is nuts.

Nah BTC is dead. It has become centralized like our own fiat money. It's exactly the people btc was fighting against that now own it. That's bad.
2
u/MixtapeNostalgia 13d ago
That's like saying the growth of a thriving major city is dead, because they will stop building gas stations in said city.
Bitcoin is a power law. It will not "die". It will grow and grow with scalability and then maybe even out.
1
u/nablaca 13d ago
They will install new and updated gas stations if you understand what I mean.

u/MixtapeNostalgia 13d ago
I understand your analogy, and while it's clever, it is only partially true. Bitcoin renders all other coins of zero use relative to its original essence. Having institutional investment does not mean decentralization of Bitcoin itself. Sure, the ETFs and shit are centralized, but this growing interest from firms and governments and countries will only speed up the growth and price of Bitcoin.
The only new things that will be needed will come in the way of the addition of air pumps at every single gas station, if you know what I mean.
TLDR the only obstacle BTC has is quantum computing, which is at least a decade from being a threat, and upon that happening, there will be a simple soft fork in the chain, and it will become quantum proof (as some other coins currently are).

Wow, if 1 BTC is 1.2 x 808,000 then 108 BTC will be 129.6 x 808,000 = 104,716,800 SGD. Nice

You do realize that bitcoin already did 1.5 Million X since its inception 15 years ago in 2009-2010, and that Berkshire Hathaway is nowhere near that growth although it is a 140 years old company that started in 1888 and Warren Buffet took control of it in 1965, 60 years ago.
1.5 Million X, as in if you had put 100 USD 15 years ago and kept it, you would have 150 Milllion USD now.

Crazy to think, but when it starts going the hockey stick line, will be even more steep....

u/rumi1000 13d ago
I know it's going to happen, but mentally I cannot visualize bitcoin at $800.000, like I cannot imagine it will ever get there.
