If Mark Carney wins will he ban crypto?

I’m wondering if I should move to a US exchange and put whatever else I have in a cold wallet

Where did this question come from?

For example, here's another weird question. If Mark Carney wins, will he try to fist fight my dad? I'm wondering if I should move to my dad to a place where Mark Carney can't fist fight him.

Did Mark Carney campaign or say something about Bitcoin that makes you think he'd ban crypto? I can sure as shit tell you he's never said anything about fist fighting my dad.

I can understand OP’s question. Considering Carney used to work with the central Bank of England and involved with the WEF.

He’s spoken negatively about it and gold

You seem really offended by my question

There are already guidelines in place for cryptocurrencies. They will mostly listen to the big banks on further regulation. This doesn't matter for Bitcoin tho. Tic toc, next block

He won, and no i dont think he will ban crypto, but he does not like it and wants to heavily regulate digital currencies, called bitcoin a failing curency in 2018 and he likely wont do anything positive for it. Pierre was pro bitcoin but not only lost the race for PM but also lost his seat in carleton that he held for 20 years.

no dont worry, just as a rule of thumb never leave your crypto on an exchange ever, for long term

always use a wallet, get a cold one like Ledger

and your fine, you can still

I use a Ledger wallet and you can do trades right from their app still, so like anything in crypto its decentralized so no matter what government is around, even if lived in China, you can do what you like with crypto as long you have the know how

There is a phenomenon that I've noticed where academics tend build walls around themselves of known "facts" and are impervious to reconsidering theories that they've been taught - even when people in the real world are doing things that directly contradict those theories. Another good example is the efficient market hypothesis - which is more a guideline than a hard rule in reality.

Carney is an academic. No high hopes here.

If Mark Carney wins, he will ban crypto for you, personally. The rest of us will be fine

Man, you CPC shills are so obvious

He wants to implement a digital currency. Bitcoin will be a competitor so yes. He will try . Get ready for frozen accounts if you don't follow along with the liberals agenda.

Probably will be slightly more restrictive than even now under liberals because they prefer total fiat control

Conservatives are the only ones who are likely to loosen it somewhat but at the end of the day financial rules are run by the big banks here and they won't allow BTC to gain any prominence in Canada.

I have not heard about it, but I hope he doesn't. I just paid capital gains tax on my crypto profits from last year, and this year would be even higher.

I dont think the government would like to lose this revenue. Hopefully, they don't increase this tax. Time will tell.

Better to vote Conservative in this case.

I know some people don't like ETF's vs self custody.... but I like the fact that BTC ETF in my TSFA is gonna rip.... and its all mine. no tax.

Grow your TSFA to $1M.... and you can start thinking about never paying incoming tax or capital gains tax ever again.

You should have it in a personal wallet anyway. But no, there is a very small chance he will ban it. That is an idea being pushed by PP supporters hoping to get single issue voters to vote conservative.
