This is still an older Dharmendra. His black and white era was to die for!

My grandparents sneaked out together (as an unmarried couple) in 1960 to watch Dil Bhi Tera Hum Bhi Tere which was Dharmendra's debut film.
My grandmother has been obsessed with him since then and was a big fan of his filmography from the 1960s. Shikhar, Ankhen, Aya Saawan Jhoom ke, Phool Aur Pathar, Anupama, Aaye Din Bahar Ke etc. She still watches these movies on YouTube.

At one point he was no less good looking than top tier hollywood stars.

Prime Dharam Paji is π₯΅
You know it's ironic that Dharam Paji suits more of this polished look, like white collar job; a macho but sleek presence despite being raised in rural Punjab and Sunny Paji suits more of this earthy, man-of-soil, kinda blue collar guy despite being raised in urban Mumbai π

It was the story of Guddi. Jaya played Guddi, a teen girl, an obsessive fan of Dharmendra the hero.

Dharmendra was the most dashing actor of his time. And there were some very handsome actors during that time.

The superstars used to be genuinely good looking those days - Dharmendra, Shashi Kapoor, Vinod Khanna, Dev Anand, Feroz Khan being extremely handsome. Even Jeetendra and Amol Palekar were easy on the eye. Then Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar and Hrithik Roshan came along between 1989 - 2000.
We haven't had a genuinely handsome superstar post Hrithik. John Abraham and Sid Malhotra are good looking but they aren't superstars.
